and that's from a lawyer.

17 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals with 6 minutes left...

i'll take wagers on him being top 10 if anyone wants to money up

there are lots of college players with stats like that who don't even get drafted

not to say josh wont be top of the first round, though he'll be lucky to be starting in the league in a few years

^yeah he's not getting his assists tonight...i said that on the last page that people get similar stats...it's the other things that make mcroberts stand out...his passing, ball handling, and court vision in particular for a big man

paulus may blow the game though...

^we already know, it was Paulus' fault for not coming straight to the ball and it was also McRoberts' fault for being complacent and throwing the ill advised pass.

So both were at fault.......but the faggots still got lucky so it doesn't matter anymore

Yay!

Looks like Hickson, Ben, and BC are going to have a field day with Duke next year.

Not surprising. I read the John Feinstein column basically saying the coaching staff was trying to usher him out the door and his teammates hated him..

ha ha this is great. He'll get his ass kicked in pre-draft camps and will be lucky to land in round 1.

Do what you want, not what those old Tdub foagies say. They just want something to brag about. 1000 posts doesnt mean anything. Why not 2000? Why not 200? Its silliness. But then again, silliness is why most of us are posting here anyways....

BYE McBobby. Glad to see him go, but I think he's leaving because he knows he will get shown up by their incoming freshie class and that will hurt his draft status even more.... His glory days from the McD dunk contest win are but a fleeting memory to most of us now.....

taylor king.

he's the exact same build, but knows his strengths. he shoots like larry bird (no joke) and distributes the ball really well. mcroberts was never the post player everyone thought he would be, and singler and patterson (if he commits) are better in the post than mcroberts. taylor king is a very similar player though, except he can REALLY extend the defense with his shooting ability.

this year i've seen mayo, king, patterson, nolan smith, and a slew of other top recruits in person and can honestly say that i think king will make the fastest impact. patterson is strictly a post player and not a very fair comparison to mcroberts.

Plus, for fans around the ACC, he fits the Duke "goofy white guy that Maryland fans will eventually be lectured on by Gary Williams for getting too personal with the insults" role.

Personally, with no inside information at all, I think Patterson ends up at UF..

i think patterson will commit to duke based on all the reports after the hoop classic and having two duke commitments in the same games (king and smith), but we'll see.

pocius is a good player, but he isn't getting minutes for duke...i wouldn't be surprised if he leaves. he's already behind paulus, nelson, scheyer, and mcclure and getting nolan smith will put him further back in the depth chart because of his defensive liability.

Big mistake not to go pro after his freshman season.

He went from being a guaranteed lottery pick (prob top 5-6) to a borderline first rounder (prob 20-25)

Tough decision this year, the draft is remarkably deep but he didn't want to get exposed even moreso than he's already been

Seth Davis from CBS just said if McRoberts can learn to shoot from 15 ft. he'll be an all-star in the NBA. Seth, you have a tiny penis, you think you're so cool with your jew-fro.

most people in the know are saying that the coaches have urged mcroberts to go pro since his interests aren't aligned with duke, and this is the final push for patterson (more playing time, scholarship, only dominant big man). it's either duke or florida and based on what patterson said after his breakfast with the duke coaches, i think it's going to be duke and the ability to come in with a terrific class.

too bad duke has a tendency to fuck up outside in post players. Sheldon did well in that system because he was an inside out player. I don't understand why powerforwards with good outside play would want to go to Duke. It is setting yourself up for failure (randolph, mcbob)

he's a great defender/passer but the only way he can score on offense is an alley oop. this is a complete joke. what a waste of two years. now we would have been better off not recruiting him at all.

^battier?

this whole thing will work out for the better if patterson comes its ALL over. I know he was swaying to florida but that was because mcroberts was here while horford and noaa are leaving florida. Now the tables are even.

nevermind, I was thinking of boozer

boozer.'s placement in the draft suffered because of duke. Had he been left to play his natural position he would have been a first rounder instead of a 2nd rounder who was forced to lose all the weight that K made him put on because K wanted to play him out of position.

^you're mixed up and incorrect.

taylor king is not a power forward. he's a 6'8" wing similar to dunleavy with much better range. singler and patterson (if he comes to duke) will handle the post duties.

with how he closed the season and showed his "character"...i no longer believe mcroberts will be a top 10 pick...he was too whiny despite his potential in the nba.

I think mcroberts' game will translate pretty good to the pros, he'll be a solid role player like he is now which should rule out lottery, I don't see him being a better pro than reyshaun terry even though he'll be drafted way ahead

^you actually think terry stands a chance of getting drafted? i don't.

mcroberts is a risk...i think i'd draft him and make him a point guard just to cause match up problems and tell him if he shoots from more than 8 feet away from the goal...he's going to the nbdl. dribble, pass, cause match up problems...

based on his potential i really thought he would develop throughout the season, but it didn't happen...he'd have 2 bad games and 1 good one...i'd be afraid to risk a lottery pick on him, but someone will i'm sure. hopefully he does well and matures...

You sure about that? From what I've read and seen Singler is a perimiter player with enough size to go down low(but not his strength). Taylor King is the much better post player(although smaller), but def can shoot the three.

Both Singler and King are listed as small forwards.

top 10 you say? what odds? I'd definitely be willing to put some money on the fact that he won't be top ten.

right now he is all 'potential' as much as ppl here don't like coach K he does develop players well, and McRoberts has only marginally improved or 'shown his potential' in 2 years....

i suppose it would be a team taking a big gamble that he will improve/live up to expectations...

if you read the thread...that statement was midseason and retracted after his lack of progress.

taylor king is NOT a pf and hardly ever plays in the post. the game i saw he had 32 and hit 7 threes...i believe he had one dunk out of those points...
