That blizzard of 2000 was the shit. Most fun I ever had in winter at NCSU thats for sure. There has been one other big storm since then, I think it was winter 2002 right after Christmas. About 1-1.5 ft then. (this is for Raleigh).

Winter so far up here in NYC has sucked. I want snow dammit! So far we've gotten about 1/2 an inch (early saturday) and a few snow flurry storms.

Of course it could snow 4 ft and I'd still have to be at work that day

^^haha, that thing is awesome. there was a thread on it a while back on ultimatesubaru.

^yeah, that was just after new years, right? i remember i had to drive back to raleigh from boone, and my 4wd wasn't working. got up with a guy i knew that worked at the ford dealer up there and got it fixed. good thing i did, because i hit the snow around greensboro and there was already 6 inches or so. rwd trucks are a joke in anything frozen. mine was downright dangerous in 2wd with the locker, it'd come around on you in a second.

i had to deliver pizzas all night in that ice crap that shut the city down a couple years ago. big block newport with all the heavy crap i could find in the trunk ftw.

werd.

I remember driving up and down Western with a case of Corona stuffed in the bed, pulling people out for fun. Fox news crew hitched a ride with us and interviewed us. good times.

lol, nice. i made it on wral news doing doughnuts on western while they were filming live in the median in front of the station. it was hilarious, the guy went running for the side of the road and started going crazy about how dangerous the roads were, that i had lost control, ahaha.

i always get a kick out of cruising around pulling people out too. you could make alot of money doing it, but i always refuse.

^sorry man, that's how the world is... Look at big corporate businesses with all the scandals... At least your helping people. Just ask for like 5 bucks to cover gas or something... Either that or accept free food. That's always good.

My S2000 ended up in a ditch due to my idiocy one time last year. It was about 50 degrees and sunny at my apartment, so I went for a drive, top down and everything. Well, not being used to the mountains nearby, I didn't realize how quickly the temperature can drop up there. I came around a blind corner and hit a shady patch that was still covered in snow, almost spun twice but straightened it out each time and ended up in a ditch.

Amazingly, all that happened was a broken tail light and minor dents around the light from a tree branch. The rest of the car was fine. But I was stuck pretty damn well. I thought I was going to have to call a wrecker, but one of those awesome friendly local rednecks drives along in this huge truck. He told me to not bother getting a wrecker, he'd go grab a chain and pull me out. Sure enough he was back 10 minutes later and pulled me out. I tried to give him cash, or at least buy him a meal or something, but he said not to bother. I think he got a huge kick out of pulling a dumb kid in a Sports car out of a ditch, lol

You can say a lot of things about this area, but in general the people sure are awesome.
