I'm expecting a close game in the first 12 minutes, but after the 8 minute timeout, I just don't think State has the legs to keep it close. Now if you come out knocking down every shot, that's another story, but our defense is pretty damn good.

Only way I can see State winning is if you slow down the tempo of the game, i.e. hold the ball and take a shot at the end of the shot clock. Carolina did this to Duke in '02 in Chapel Hill when we just knew we were going to lose by 30+. I think we lost by like 13 or so...but it was just a terrible game to watch.

^I already said I am taking a pre-req course at State for grad school because I grew up in Raleigh. They gave me an e-mail address. I won't post anymore, can't talk sports when people revert to childish name-calling because they have no other grounds to talk back.

My friends use this site...I like it...I like college basketball A LOT. It's my favorite sport and I like to discuss it. We sucked for a while, it's nice to be winning again. I'm sorry if I've insulted anyone, not meaning to. I'll be the first to admit our football team/program is in the shitter.

I watch every Carolina, Duke, State games I possibly can. I grew up on this. Been a diehard fan since my brother went to UNC in 1995 and have carried it with me until now. I grew up a Carolina fan and went to school there just like some of you grew up State fans and went/go to school there.

I've always said, if it werent for the fans (and Rasheed Wallace), I would have nothing against UNC. You will never hear a UNC fan talk during a bad season. It was built by donors, not tax paying citizens. This is why the big alumni sit courtside. It is also a basketball only facility with plenty of tradition. It's not a multi-purpose facility like the RBC. RBC may be a more luxurious and state of the art facility, but it lacks tradition. As a recruit, I'd be more impressed with banners, historic players, and tradition than I would an arena billed as "state of the art." I don't see NC State recruiting as many McDonald's All-Americans as Kansas, UNC, Duke, UCLA, UConn. Why would a recruit care if an NBA or NHL team won a championship? Has nothing to do with college basketball. It is on campus and you're right has shitty traffic, but as far as basketball is concerned I'd be more impressed with the Smith Center, but I guess I'm biased.

Not that it matters to this thread but as a UConn fan too, they don't get nearly as many McD's AA's as you might think. In the last decade the only ones were Rudy Gay, Charlie Villanueva, Scott Hazelton (who later transferred), Taleik Brown, and Khalid El-Amin. State has had Scooter Sherril, Julius Hodge, Brandon Costner, and Damien Wilkins (who later transferred).
