^^you need 2" and 2.5" for a square shaft. i do have some 2" .250 wall you can take a length of. pretty sure i've used all the .120 wall i had. my old flatbed is sitting in the yard back there though, and i used .120 wall for the outer frame of it iirc. cut some out of that if you feel like it. it's got sheetmetal and crossmembers welded to it though. i can't remember if i have any 2.5 .250 left or not. if i do, you're welcome to getting some. i'd like to get a few bucks for any of the metal though since steel is so $$ right now.

you might want to get hitch tubing for the 2.5 instead though, it's kind of a pita to make one with the stuff i had because it has the weld seam on the inside. you have to really grind/groove the 2" to fit it. however, it does make for a very nice, tight fit with very minimal slop. the few i've made had no vibes all the way up to highway speeds and didn't clank/bang on the trail.

look around in there, you may just find the 2" part of an old driveshaft that's already had the grinding/grooving done. i think Tuite used it up for his though.

my problem was my rear bumper was on the ground, torsion bar crossmember was high centered on the ledge and front and rear wheels were barely touching the ground, all it took was a little tension on the front to catch some traction with my front wheels and it came on up outta there.

in hindsight, i probably shouldn't have just kept going in till i was on the ground and couldnt go back anymore
