That's the impression I get from Duke fans. After they beat us, it's "oh, that was a close game, you guys played well, I was worried there for a few minutes."

After UNC beats us, it's "WE BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU ALL, FUCKERS! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I think it's pretty clear which one is more of a "rivalry" with all the people I know from both schools.

when u lose to a team picked to finish next to last, and a team that was last in the ACC a week ago, you start to care; and when its only 20-30 min down the road and you have to hear about it all the time until the next time we play they will care a lot. Wait until the next time we play, youll see how much they care

State played a great game and deserved to win. Carolina looked flat and lacked passion. State just wanted it alot more.

Of course there's a rivalry between Carolina and State. Of course it's taken a back seat to the Carolina/Duke rivalry the past 20 years, though. I can understand why State fans are so happy, it's been over 3 years since you've beat Carolina in the two major sports.

Who cares if UNC doesn't view this as a rivalry? Our team doesn't play for UNC. Lowe doesn't coach for UNC. Do you think Hansbrough actually plays for UNC? He doesn't--he plays for himself at Carolina.

Our team plays for North Carolina State University and for NCSU fans, which is something most UNC players and fans don't understand. We wanted a win. Our team gave it to us, and that's enough for me. I don't need some UNC fan to validate our win for me.

Charlie, you my friend are an idiot. They do care. They care alot. Your the same kind of person that reminds me of some of my friends who weren't raised as state fans. In the 70's and 80's they hated us WAY more than they hated duke. Roy Williams was around then...he hates us WAY more than he hates duke. trust me. as for now every student there says they don't care because they don't care. They came to school knowing about duke carolina....it's going to start getting nasty again. We could split every year AND go to the tourney. Trust me if that happens they are going to care. Oh and by the way the article you posted just furthermore hurt your argument that they don't care. Read it again dude.
