You guys are idiots. Shavlik Randolph is know around here b/c his grandfather was a star here. Look in the rafters and you will see shavlik (his grandfather's last name). It was a big deal that he went to Duke and not State. I don't think this quote reflects anything badly except he probably could have worded it better.

No one fucking associates Shavlik Randolph with NC State just because his uncle was a good player before TV's were even invented practically.


Shavlik is a relative unknown nationally.


He is however, pretty decent in the NBA surprisingly.

Yeah I always heard he was a little on the dumb side but he was a good asset to the school so I think he probably just coasted right on through. I always had my suspicions that he left Duke because he flunked out or something. When he announced his decision to leave it was like all secretive as to why. "Gayness?" Come on Shav! I went to Broughton and the education is a tad more sound than that. What a jackass. It's one thing to say you don't care what other people do as long as they don't force it on you. But the way he worded it is like being gay is some sort of contagious disease or something. The people that voice such concerns are the main ones trying to suppress those urges. And opening up a whole new can of worms here, I think that there are probably quite a few gay athletes and part of the reason they have sex with so many women (other than the mere fact that they can and some women will do anything to touch status) is to try to overcome their homosexual tendencies. In fact I think that a significant number of men in general would let another man give them at least a BJ if the opportunity presented itself with the assurance of complete confidentality and secrecy. But sex in general and "homosexual sex" especially is so taboo in our country (still in 2007) that few men have the balls (no pun intended) to admit their tendecies. Kudos John Amaechi! Fuck you Shavlik Randolph!

second of all Shav is very ultra christian so of course he's not gonna come out and say I LOVE HOMOS. his parents would disown him. Theres nothing wrong with not liking homos as long as you treat them with respect.


third of all its no mystery why Shav left Duke early. He and his family hated Coach K. In all fairness K gave him a bit of a raw deal as Shav was actually a valuable defensive player his junior year.

Shav knew he was gonna rot on the bench again his senior year and he thought with the hip surgery he could make the NBA.

He was right. The guy probably has a lengthy NBA career ahead of him and he's making money. He obviously doesnt agree with homos but its not like he's saying he wants to kill homos or anything.

shav. been a little awkward since day one.

it is funny how he was, in a way, targeted by the media based on a silly comment he made. if he can avoid the injuries, I look forward to his contributions to the NBA in the future.
