I hear there may be a AD job opening somewhere...

And naming things after people always has to do with current history. Seriously, no offense to the Case family, but current sports history is always going to take more precendent.

Jimmy V will never have anything named after him at this school. Not after the way our admins treated him during his demise.

Case is the most deserving, and if you're going to name it anything... it better be 'Case Court'

"having the rbc or the court after jimmy v is a DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB DUMB idea.

case is MUCH more deserving. as for reynolds/yow, that's fantastic!

how can you ignore someone like everett case too? I know he has a building named after him but a court is more substantial. I would love to see Jimmy V court tho, but it's just not fair imo.

best prezzie they could have possibly given Yow

(the win, not the court, the court is nice and all, but i'm sure she prefers beating unc)

before long, all of those admins will be long gone, and what will be left is the great memory of Jimmy V at this school. No, not the scandal or the firing, but the 83 championship, the ACC tourney runs, "Fire and Ice," the dream of the RBC center, and most importantly, "never give up."

It's like, even after death, some of our fans still hate on the guy, even though he redefined "wolfpack" for all of us.

I have nothing against Jimmy V. He definately took NC State to one of the most remarkable NCAA championships in NCAA history, but as far as the "never give up", that came during a speech at the ESPY's after he was no longer here. I think most current students don't even know what he did or what his overall record was. All they remember is that speech. And as far as the RC center, I wish they would have just renovated Reynolds. Look at Cameron Indoor Stadium. It is tiny but still one of the best atmosphere's to see a basketball game (except for the Dookies). Reynolds was an amazing place to watch a game and the RBC center has just never felt quite the same to me.

Are you fucking kidding? Get some perspective. It's not as though we live in Russia.

Nope, not kidding. And I think I have some perspective seeing how I was a student there off and on from 97 to 05.

There is still a significant portion of the faculty leadership around that was a big factor in his firing and is still spiteful towards Jimmy V.

You simply do not name a court, arena, or anything after a coach you fired. Not gonna happen. Jimmy V's legacy at NC State was that he was a pretty good coach, he was funny, and he tried so many different things at once that he got in waaaaaaay over his head, let his program get out of control, and ultimately took the fall.

Alot of people with influence flipped out when his name was hung in the rafters along with the 20-year honorary stuff for the '83 team.

An excellent read, but why not just make the headline "Inspirational Pack Leaps into Top 25" or something like that? The fact that Duke got 49 first-place votes instead of 50 is pretty inconsequential.

Well she is a fighter, the day she admits that things are not going to be like normal, and that she is not going to continue doing what she loves, is the day she admits defeat. And she won't do that until her body says it for her.

She definitely has been an inspiration around this area. I don't think she gets enough recognition for all she has done and gone through.
