so where is UCLA's Wheaties box? UCLA deserves a Wheaties box LONG before UNC gets one, what with their 11 NCAA National Championships. None of their championships were voted upon!

what a load of absolute sappy bullshit.

Quote :
"Lately this board, for lack of a better word to convey the gravity of it all, has been really... tense.

Pre-season expectations combined with early blowouts had built up a giant balloon of hubris in our fanbase. When the wear and tear of the season and/or the freshman wall and/or the improvement of other teams and/or the over all freakish nature of basketball and/or the questionable coaching decisions started to stockpile and/or the whatever else you want to add hit, we tallied losses that no one expected to see. It's brutal, especially when you get the sense that the team is giving up.

Well that is the nature of sports. It may not be fun, but for every thriller like last season, there is the chance that the wheels could come off. Are our problems fixable? Probably, but that is not in our hands. No amount of yelling at each other on here is going to make this team perform better. No amount of slamming of the players and the coaches is going to make them do what YOU want them to do. We are trapped in the role of observers. Success at this program has made things like top 10 seasons an expectation, so when we are actually in the middle of one and still under-performing in the eyes of the faithful, it makes us realize that what most others would be happy with, is not good enough to please everyone. Those who want more anger the die-hard cheerleaders; those who can recognize that it is not so bad, get screamed at for not being entirely doom and gloom. Overall, it is vicious and circular. And not very fun.

It's time like these when we have to look for the things that bind us together. I am not talking about Dean Smith or the Carolina Way. I am not talking about the freshman shot of Jordan, or the never-ending effort of George Lynch, or even David Noel earning his respect from this fanbase over four hard-fought years. No what I am talking about is much older than any of these things.

It's times like these that we must remember that we really, really hate Duke. I mean really.

This rivalry transcends records, it goes past who has what talent and what chemistry problems. And it will get us past our current woes. For a few brief hours, despite how frustrating things are, this fanbase will unite in a mutual disdain for the Dark Blue ones down the road. We'll have different opinions of the game, but we will all agree that anyone on this team willing to give everything to defeat them, will be heroes in our eyes forever.

Images of a bloody Montross will flash before our eyes. We'll see a rout so bad that Carter and Cota will team up for the best missed dunk in the history of the game. We'll see Raymond Felton flying to the floor after a hard hit from Dauntay Jones, and more importantly we'll see the look in his eye that will carry us to victory. It is the same laser-like stare down that propelled him forward to defend the most polarizing figure in our school's history, the team doctor his only restraint from assured ejection. We'll see Brandon Haywood awkwardly driving on a breakaway to steal a victory in the final seconds. We'll see a similarly loaded and perhaps chemistry impaired team declare that as long as their big three were there, they would never lose to Coach K. We'll see a young freshman named Marvin have one of the greatest putbacks in our school's history. We'll see Sweet D, Walter Davis, hitting a 35-foot bank shot to send a vicious game in Carmichael to overtime, heping to score eight points in seventeen seconds. And we'll see the likes of our current team adding to the history. Bobby Frasor will smile as he hits free throws he KNEW would send the Devils away with a loss; Tyler will get up and wipe the blood of his face, like Montross so long ago.

I know things seem bad right now, but this rivalry is a much needed catharsis for the Carolina fanbase. We may not win them all, but we unite briefly in the hope that we will.

It's times like these that we should put it all aside and proudly proclaim that we don't give a @#%$ about Dook Univerity. "

^^^these threats are comical. I would love to see one of these sweater vest/dress shirts with the jersey over top/latte drinking faggots try to put their hands on henderson no matter where he was. I'm not supporting duke or henderson but he would certainly drop these bitches like a bad habit on the streets
