The ball was out of play by the time Henderson started his downswing. He just made a split second decision to try and slip a cheap one in. The video shows his eyes moving from the ball to Hansbrough's face. Now, that doesn't mean I think he meant to put Hansbrough on the floor either, but there was intent to send a message.

Also, Billy Packer has his nose lodged securely up K's crack. Anyone else catch that? Not that its anything new.

I probably have a biased opinion, but i don't see how that was any more blatant than hansborough swinging at coster. It was acctually less blatant, the only difference was contact, which i think i remember reading was irrelevant according to the rules.

Yeah if you watch it in slow motion it seems like that, but watch it in regular time and see how fast it actually happened, it was like a split second there, personally I don't think there was reaction time enough to stop his swat for the ball. Unintentional, but glad it happened for our sake.

the motion looked too awkward and hard for it to be unintentional imo. unless he realized he was falling and that the ball was already blocked or something, because he def doesn't even reach up nearly high enough to block the shot. plus he looks at hansblow

^^didn't look like a swing at costner to me, it was a "SHIT" self hand slap and he didn't realize costner was right there...

he didnt reach up bc he was so high that the block would have to be made with a downward swing and anyways he doesnt extend his arm.

It looked to me like Henderson was going for the ball, but when the ball was blocked away, he changed the path of his swing. If Hansbrough had continued up with the ball, Henderson's motion would have stayed in line with the projected flight of the shot, but when the ball was redirected, Henderson altered his motion as well.

Once the ball was no longer going towards the hoop, there is no reason to swing like you are going to block it. He just didn't adjust his motion properly.

the ejection was unwarranted. I think part of the reason the ejection happened was to make sure it didn't elevate into anything worse, like retaliation fron UNC players or fans. They should have just sent Henderson to the locker room afterwards. A flagrant foul would have been fine.

henderson was CLEARLY intending to foul the shit out of hansbrough. clearly. no way to argue this. i don't think he meant to hit him in the face, but he was definitely trying to foul hansbrough hard as he was going for that lay-up. anyone who has played basketball understands how frustrating it can be to have the other team pour it on at the end of the game. henderson was probably just pissed the hansbrough got another rebound, was about to score again, and was thinking "to hell with this, i'm gonna send his ass to the line".

and as was said before, if this had happened to a state player, all you clowns would be like "my God, he should be kicked off the team!!!"

It was clearly intentional. Gerald saw the ball was out of Hansburrr's hands and still swung through him. Whether it was a reckless swing/hard foul, or a calculated swing, an ejection and game suspension is warranted. I guess we know who has inherited the legacy of Tauntay Jones.

Hansbro's swing in the vicinity of Costner is different, because it appeared he swung his fists in the air with Costner nearby, rather than targetting Costner. It was stupid, however, because a ref could easily see it differently.

Henderson would have been punished for the foul if it had been called intentional but instead he was punished for his supposed intent which is very illdefined at the moment and seemingly unintentional nonetheless he was punished for what the refs saw as and intentional elbow and was ejected as well as unfairly suspended for the next game.
