I think this team is fine

this is a bad division and the brewers cant play ahead of the pack for long.

tommorow would be a nice win

8-1 in last 9 games and 2nd place in the central. Now all we have to do is wait for Milwaukee to collapse and cruise into October. And a great comeback win today.

good ole Lou is managing his fucking ass off, he had to have used every player on the roster for that game against the Nats yesterday. I think he's starting to put the pieces into place and it should only get better through the season. I hope these fuckers make the playoffs this season or else I won't be watching them again.

I tried to stay up watching the espn gamecast, but it was so slow in refreshing I finally gave up in the 14th. Glad I did, but damm cubbies back at .500. At least the white sox lost.

Yesterday was indeed a disaster but nice to see some runs scored against a good white sox defense. Dempster decided to pull his head out of his ass I see.

"Carlos Zambrano and Michael Barrett may need to go to their rooms on Saturday. The pitcher and the catcher will be disciplined by the Cubs following their fight on Friday, MLB.com reveals. The two fought in the dugout and later resumed their fisticuffs in the locker room. Barrett went to the hospital due to a cut on his lip. Manager Lou Piniella will handle the punishment, team officials explain. Both players will likely be fined, but we doubt either Zambrano or Barrett will miss any time."

It was probably one of the Top 5 ejections in baseball history. He kicked dirt on the umpire like 10 times and kicked his own hat at least a half dozen on top of the classic Earl Weaver style argument.. good stuff.

it was clear on the regular speed angle too. The glove was down over his hands before the guy made it. Hell, his fingers even popped up over the glove

the ump got it right, I don't get your point... whether it's 1/100th of a cm or 10 feet, the guy was still out and sweet lou looked like a friggin moron out there today

to the naked eye there is absolutely no way you could say he was clearly out

the right call was made, more or less by chance

I personally think MLB is going overboard on protecting Umpires. The Umps today are clearly more irritable judging by the number of ejections this week they have gotten power hunger. I actually think officials in every sport are trying to get a more central role in athletic competitions instead of being there to enforce the rules they want there highlights on SC. Not saying what that Lou didn't deserve to be ejected but Umps seem to be quicker to eject on a disagreement over a call. The younger umpires seem to be the quickest tempered and the ump yesterday caused the escalation of the argument instead of trying to difuse it and walk away from it. Just my two cents.

Good job Sori! He is just getting healthy again but he has always piled on the solo HRs and not been a great hitter w/ RISP. Just the way he is... but he is a solid all star caliber player year in and year out and has adjusted pretty well to the OF...

Hopefully the Cubs sweep this weekend.

Bullshit call on Lilly getting tossed. It's not like he was throwing at Renteria with the first pitch of the at-bat or the first pitch of the game. Oh wait, that was Hudson yesterday.

"As Cubs prospect and former Notre Dame star receiver Jeff Samardzija warmed up for his season debut in April, the Brevard County (Fla.) Manatees blasted the USC fight song over the sound system. Samardzija is 0-5 this season. The Cubs bought him out of a possible NFL career in January, guaranteeing him $10 million. He has started 11 games this season, winning none, with a 5.75 ERA, a .349 opponents' batting average and only 20 strikeouts in 52 innings. The Cubs moved him to the bullpen last week."
