Reactionary legislation rarely works in the people's best interest. Why should TWW change as a result of outside pressure from a website full of people that hate us? They aren't part of this community and none of you seemed to care before this recent scandal.

By releasing a person's personal information you open them up to anonymous attacks. Do you really think that the person who anonymously slashes someone's tires is any better than the person who posts racist remarks on a messageboard?

Furthermore, do you think TWW actually has correct personal information for 50% of it's users? Anyone with $5 in a Paypal account could easily create a new account using your personal information and start posting racist remarks if they wanted to get back at you.

Seriously...Put a little thought into it before you start recommending sweeping changes.

i think a lot of people cared about the rampant racism constantly shouted by a few people.

i cared. but wasnt a goddamn thing i could do about it.

i dont know the answer. I dont like the racism, but i do like the lack of censorship.

if we start censoring one type of unpleasant speech, what will be next?

then it will be just like any other forum.

in reference to the vote to ban thing on page 1:


if people get banned out of personal prejudice here(meaning a lot of people hate the person and vote to ban) then they can pay $5 to get back in, with a different account at the very least as a 'slap on the wrist' or whatever, unless you start banning IP's(not to be confused with ISP's.

What will closing off the forums to the public do except make us look more suspect? "Oh look, they won't let us view their content anymore, that way they can say more racist things without fear of being called out on it."

That does no good. Over half the users here are probably on an nc.rr.com IP address and they can get a new one by unplugging their cable modem for a couple of hours. Even if you ban an IP that they still own that they can just use a proxy to get around it.
