Yeah, really the dunk and the fallout that followed are tiny details in the greater scheme of more important things.

Like the fact that we just experienced one of the best ACC tournaments of our lifetimes.

I mean, my friend who is a diehard Tarheel fan admitted that though they won the tournament, NC State had a moral victory and that it was clear that we were the real "winners" here.

I was really calm after we lost the game compared to usual when we lose close games. The dunk pissed me the fuck off because I had just been saying how great of a game it was and how proud of our team I was...and I saw the dunk coming from a mile away and said "oh fuck no dont do it" and he did anyway.


There's nothing wrong with being pissed off about it at the time. There's something wrong with posting the racist shit that was posted and staying pissed about it.

i was certainly pissed off at the time - i mean how hard would it have been for him to dribble it out? I don't think it's a reflection on Roy or UNC, just bad character/sportsmanship on the kid. it was kind of one of those "we dominated you" dunks when in all actuality they had blown a big lead to a team that but by the grace of sid was in the final

when I look back at the 2007 tourney, I'll remember watching State play 4 games in 4 days and come within 4 minutes of winning them all...i remember how awesome it was beating duke and getting to watch another game friday night and how glad our season had one more game...now we're still alive - and with our outlook in october, the NIT is fine by me this year

when we play carolina from now until the end of my life, I will remember that punk move and use it as more fuel to the unc hating fire that burns within

Yeah, I was definitely pissed as hell when I saw it. I thought that it was definitely unsportsman like, definitely unclassy, and definitely immature. The reason you won't see someone like Atsur do that is because he is mature and knows whats right. Lawson is just a young BOY who doesn't know any better. I have moved on since then though. As said above, it will just be more fuel for the fire when we beat them down the road.

And yes if one of our players did that I would be upset after the fact too.

so some of you say that if Gavin or Fells had the chance for an exclamation dunk to end the ACC Tourney over our most-heated rival, they would have passed up the chance? While our guys have shown class all year, this was just a different situation. I was madder than hell when he did it as well, but I was more mad at the final score more than anything. After the dust settled, i understood lawson. Hell, him and Wright are two UNC players I have gotten to like to some extent (Compared to guys like Hansblow, Green, Terry, etc) because they keep their mouth shut most of the time and just go out and play basketball.
