We wont host in the third round period, the #8 seed is out, and whether that game ends up being WVU, Alabama, or UMass, Im sure they all have an easier time scheduling a game than RBC would, so no way they dont get to host. Its Friday or bust for a home game for this season. My guess is they would try to move gymnastics earlier in the day (how long is a gymnastics meet and how long would it take to transition for basketball?). The game being scheduled for 930 is definitely a plus.

gymnastics meets can last for over 2 hours...it does seem possible to move gymnastics earlier and then still have the game...

but I can also see our athletic department screwing us out of having another game because they say it can't be done...


EDIT: According to a NC State trainer it is senior night for gymnastics and unlikely the meet would get moved, but that is what we need to hope for

Gymnastics hasn't been in carmichael for like 15 years. They sell too many tickets and have to large of a crowd to have it in a smaller arena.

Looking at the schedule, if we were to have a home game, why can't the NIT move the game to saturday. There already is an NIT game on saturday for the second round, so why not move our game? then we would have both arenas possibly open? and if the canes are in town, RBC should surely be open.

i mean having the game in the dean smith center just to smite unc fans would be the cutest thing ever. not to mention we wouldnt really have much traveling to do and could fill the place with 24k or however many pack fans. we could take pictures of it and laugh at the unc students on the way out. we could leave it an absolute MESS.

nothing would be better because walmart nation would be irate.

Yeah, taking over the Smith Center for an NIT game would really bum them out. It's not like they have the ACC title or a #1 seed in the real tournament or anything.
