I've gotta agree with that one too. I mean, we definitely had no real business being there in the first place. I do think that the world is probably better off without Saddam Hussein in power, and especially in control of such a large pool of resources, but at this point, it seems the threat was grossly overstated.
I actually had this very same conversation with my roommate after I got back from watching the protest the other day. Basically, we both agreed that the US fucked up their country and their relatively peaceful lives, so now it's our responsibility to fix it.
There's really no easy way to handle this sort of thing. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. We as the American people just have to suck it up and take better care to be informed of what our leaders have in mind in the future.3/21/2007 7:40:16 PM |
