The only memorable thing about them was that was Roy's first team that he took to the National Championship game, and he had to beat Dean Smith, his mentor, in the semifinal. When recounting great teams, no one outside of Kansas fans would probably ever mention them." |
Actually, you are right. I'm wrong about KU in 1991 and my memory is fuzzy. I was spewing off who played in the final game that year, but I was thinking about UNLV... they were sick that year and the year before win they won it all.3/30/2007 2:14:17 PM |

If you made a thread that asked who the best Shorstop in baseball was and I said David Ortiz that wouldn't make a lot of sense.
Your answer didnt make sense either.
Don't get mad, just say "oh I didnt read the topic clearly, sorry".3/30/2007 3:41:47 PM |

bttt. do you think either of these two teams in the final could match up well against the great teams of the past? i mean obviously some of those classic teams are hyped now due to how well their players did in the NBA, but some of them everyone knew how great they were. Ohio State is very good, but I don't know how they'd do against some of those teams that were just as good, if not better, and loaded with senior talent. Florida has a lot of talent that is experienced as well, but I'm not completely sold on how great they are in comparison to past teams. they're legend would definitely grow if they win it again. 4/1/2007 11:50:49 AM |

The Duke 99 vs. UNLV 91 team is a decent debate. UNLV did beat Arkansas in Fayetville, but Duke's OOC schedule the year they lost in the finals was flat out sick, they lost in the great Alaska shootout and then steamrolled everyone else until the title game. UNLV steamrolled everyone until Duke in the final four in 91, but doesn't their schedule in conference have something to do with it. Saying UNLV had 3 lottery picks with the top overall pick in 91 is the dumbest argument you can make for UNLV best tam to not win the title. Duke had 3 lottery picks with the number one overall pick as well in 1999. And the trump card is that Will Avery went 14th, one off the lottery, so that UNLV 3 lottery picks with the top pick holds no water to Duke in 1999. 4/1/2007 12:16:48 PM |

In the 1999 National Championship game, when Duke had the ball with like 25 seconds left, I didn't understand why Coach K didn't call a timeout and draw up a play. I mean UConn had one of the best guard defenders in the country that year. In that case you need to design a play to get your PG separation from him and be able to penetrate to the basket. 4/1/2007 8:29:54 PM |
