went to a bar last week that had 2000+ beers on the menu. Needless to say, I was in heaven.

the brickskeller in DC has around 900-1000 on their menu and as far as i know they hold the world record for the most different beers in a single bar.

for you belgian fans, if you are ever in philadelpha, check out monk's belgian beer emporium.

it's a small joint with incredible food and a seriously impressive selection.

im not really a wheat type of guy, but this girl im seeing lives near by and is a dunkleweizen fiend.

yeah thats a staple on draft, and is their only named beer. it's not a brew pub, just a bar that contracted out a brewery to produce that beer for them

havent had it.

where'd you get that?

the place is tiny, hell the bar has like 10 stools

I'll be there! I hope that woman is at the Brooklyn Brewer stand again. Last time I went to the one in Moore Square she was the talk of the town. Someone get a photo of her boobs if she is there.

The 2000+ beer bar is in Brussels, Belgium: Delirium Pub. A plaque on the wall said that it held the guinness book record for most beers available in a bar in 2004. The menu was as thick as a small telephone book with descriptions of nearly every beer that they had available. It was heaven.

Went to the evening session last year, and didn't have any problems with them running out of beer. If anything, from what I've heard, there's a surplus at night because they save during the day to make sure they don't run out at night. But they save too much.

Last year, when they made the call to cut everyone off (at ten) we just hung around the beer we ended up at chatting with the guys and drinking as much as possible while they cleared out the lines. Took, say, 10-15 extra minutes.

^be sure to hit up the Big Boss stand, they will have their Belgian Double Wit on tap...my hometown boys The Mash House will be there too, and they have a tasty hefe, so hit them up for sure

The Great Taste of the Midwest hands out a pamphlet listing all the brewers with a small blurb about each brewery. Most of the brewers also include a list of the beers they will have on tap...really wish the WBF would follow their example.

Someone give me a list of the top 5. I'm a beer noob, so I don't know what to try. And I'm a bit of a lightweight, so I probably won't get to try that many.

that's a tough question that could be answered different ways and really depends on what you like...but most everybody will have some ligher styles if that's your thing. Don't be afraid to try some new shit, though...that's the point.

I will definately check out any NC guys just for the hell of it...also see Allagash, New Glarus and Bell's for sure, Dogfish Head, Jolly Pumpkin, New Belgium, and Terrapin...just glancing through the list: http://www.allaboutbeer.com/wbfraleigh/beer_lineup.html

you can always ask for smaller pours, too

OK, well I'm sure I'll be able to try more than 5, but I still can't try them all. I just wanted some advice.

Saturday
Partly sunny skies, cooler and less humid. HIghs in the mid-upper 70s. An upper level disturbance moves across the state today. It is a cold pocket of air aloft and once the ground is heated from the sun, the difference in the surface temperature and the cooler air aloft, will prompt clouds to develop. Once this passes, we will see clearer skies into the evening. Wind: W 10-15 mph. Wind: W, 10-15 mph.

Saturday Night
Clearing and cooler with a low around 50.
