how corny would it be if he actually ended up with winnie? it's so much more realistic that he didn't. The wonder years is an excellent show about growing up....should never be used in the same sentence as "boy meets world" either.

Just got done watching one of the episodes I DVRed -- the one where Kevin visits his Dad's office and realizes his dad basically gets bitch slapped daily by the man. Not one of the best, but definitely worth watching.

Even when the show is off it's game a little bit, it's still the best show ever made. The new television "dramedys" or whatever don't come close to the sincerity and truth of this show. I want to know why the hell the series DVD hasn't come out yet?

Tonight's episode was good/sad...the one where they tear down their childhood stomping grounds Harper's Woods.

^ i agree. My parents also loved F&G when it was on. They always told me how much it reminded them of "Wonder Years." Unfotunately F&G didnt last as long

i love both tho

Yes, Freaks and Geeks was a great show, Undeclared was pretty much done by the same people and was pretty good too

I was referring to the fact that they're both Judd Apatow projects and I never said it was equal to F&G but it was still pretty funny

F&G deserves syndication.

Wonder Years, F&G, Undeclared, My So Called Life, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and similar shows on one network would pwn all.

The episode where Lindsay gets turned on to Grateful Dead's American Beauty is one of the best I remember. Such a great episode centered around a truely underrated album.

I'm not even a huge Dead fan, but that studio album is fantastic.

That's the last episode. There's some great stuff in it, but I personally hate Lindsay's storyline in the episode. The stuff with Nick and the disco is awesome, and the stuff with Daniel and the geeks is even better (specifically the scene inside the AV room), but the stuff with Lindsay is absolutely infuriating. I've shown this series to a lot of people, watched every episode with them, and my reaction is still the same. If it had worked out differently, I probably would be okay with it, but as it's the last shot of the entire series, I'll never get over it.

Stupid fucking Grateful Dead.

Incidentally, there's a really great deleted scene where Daniel solves a puzzle playing D&D that makes me fall over with joy every time I see it.

Are there any shows presently that depict real life growing up like Wonder Years and F&G did

^^ I don't know, man. I'm all for responsibility and not close to a grateful dead fan but the idea of her realizing that she's young and getting out there doing something for the pure pleasure of it, and to discover herself rather than going to some lameass academic summit that won't matter to her in ten years is kind of a cool concept.

I think especially for those in dead end jobs the concept of just throwing caution to the wind and doing something like that is something many people would like to be able to have the courage to do

I agree that ditching the academic summit for an adventure is a good concept. I'm not much on deceiving the folks, but I understand that you can't tell Harold Weir that you're following the Grateful Dead around.

Still, she could've had a much better adventure than that. Fuck.

I despise the Grateful Dead but I thought that was a perfect ending to Freaks and Geeks.

Back on topic, the girl in "The Lake" episode wasn't quite as hot as I remembered her being. I think I'll have to go with Madeline as the best looking chick that appeared on the show.

Three people I never knew were on The Wonder Years: Alicia Silverstone, Carla Gugino, and DUSTIN DIAMOND.

The Freaks & Geeks DVD set is the greatest DVD set ever produced (yes, I'm aware of the Criterion Collection book set). If you need to know why, just start with the inside cover:
