"i still like this show. the depth they are giving to each character really works to produce a very intricate plot."

For the most part it seems like their building towards some interesting stories but, anyone else totally uninterested in this guy in the Army and his wife. I'm hoping it gets better because right now their plot and dialogue sound like they were written by the show's intern. I'm thinking its so cheesy (complete with phone call from the guy who may have well been the drill seargent in FMJ) because its something completely different. That or these two being in the opening credits is a fake out and they're only around for one more ep.

I'll be happy when we're out of the 'introduction' period and don't have to have every character posit their backstory at every first appearance in an episode.

Yeah guess he's not making it past half the season.

I still think it would have been cool if they had included a bunch of people in the credits to start that didn't stick around that long.

How terrible is that intro music.

Also I thought this show was supposed to be testing the limits of green screen, I thought the effects when that truck attacked them were terrible.

I was thinking the other day it was kind of neat that Tim Minear was doing a show that didn't have any supernatural or sci-fi elements in it...then that lady said she heard the voice of god and I was like...ok, scratch that.

Who had 4 episodes?

The other person watching might be mildly perturbed at this as I am.

I am. I felt the show had promise. I guess to many people were turned off initially because of the premise behind the show and/or the time slot

Have the eps downloaded but haven't watched yet. How in the hell can they cancel a show after only 2 weeks? This is like when they fucking Canceled Smith after 3 weeks. That show was badass.

Hell its not like they even spent any money marketing Drive. I doubt most people even know what it is yet. They should have given it more than 2 fucking weeks.

^^Actually, FOX marketed the shit out of this show...possibly too much. Plus, they marketed it towards the "Fast and the Furious" type fans...which, is a good idea in theory since that is sadly a large group of people, but doesnt work well when the ads feature people driving around in minivans, beatup pickup trucks, and a Ford Taurus.

This show should have debuted during the summer, and with nothing much else on, may have found an audience, much like The OC did. Debuting a show 2 weeks before May ratings, when you almost have no choice but to cancel if it does poorly, is beyond idiotic.

From what I hear this was the last project on Tim Minears developmental deal with FOX, so hopefully his next effort shows up on another network (Ive always thought Wonderfalls would have stuck around a full season or more if it had showed up on The WB instead).

Which still raises the question of whether the people at Fox are really that idiotic or if they've got some kind of vendetta and are deliberately fucking up these shows.

They aired the premiere in the same time slot as The Simpsons. Out of pure principle I refuse to watch anything other than The Simpsons at 8pm on Sundays. Plus it looked like a horrible show, and from everything I've read (and the fact that it was pulled so fast), it was.

it really wasn't a bad show. i thought it looked stupid from the previews but on hearing different opinions about the special effects and actors in the show i decided to give it a chance. as i said before, the show had great promise but was poorly delivered to audiences. I read they marketed the show heavily during American Idol. you think the people watching AI would be interested in show about a country wide car race? Fox definitely dropped the ball on this one. tis a shame

If I remember correctly that was the original plan, I guess they didn't have much to show and decided to move it up to April which at the time was seen as a vote of confidence by the network...ha!

I've decided to boycott all Fox shows save Simpsons now (which really isn't that hard).

Getting pulled fast is hardly an indication of whether the show was good or not. If it had premiered earlier, FOX would have aired all 6 episodes Im sure, but with May sweeps, they had no choice really (although they could have just pulled it for sweeps and brought it back during the summer). Just look at the Family Guy list and you see a ton of shows that were brilliant yet only got 6 or less episodes on the air.

Bones and Standoff were on tonight at 8 and 9 on Fox. According to their messageboard the episodes for Drive will be made available online on Monday 7/16.

The posts on the Fox forum are pretty hilarious.
