baseball season is the best season out there. the leaderboards change every day, and there's multiple games every day.

as opposed to football where espn talks about the same shit all week.

This is a great time for sports.

The NBA playoffs are probably the best time of the season. You've got great basketball nearly every night.

MLB is just gearing up so its relatively exciting (unlike in late July where your team is 10 games back and its boring)

NFL Draft is coming.

NBA draft isnt far away.

More importantly tennis season is gearing up.

This is the season for true sports fans, not just the college football loser nation.

I like baseball, and loved playing it as a kid. Playing catcher was my favorite position. I admit though, it's much harder to watch on television than say college basketball and college football. I get into the games when I'm actually at the ballpark. The reason why college basketball, college football, and the NFL are more interesting to me is due to the importance of each game in the season. I love the NHL playoffs, but the NHL, NBA, and especially MLB have way too many games in the regular season for me to watch every one of them. The most boring time is definitely after the NHL and NBA playoffs end. MLB games haven't become of great importance yet, and that's pretty much your only option, save the CWS.

This is a great terrible time for sports.

The NBA playoffs are probably the best worst time of the season. You've got great basketball nearly every night.

MLB is just gearing up so its relatively exciting mind numbing (unlike in late July where your team is 10 games back and its so boring its lethal)

NFL Draft is coming. boorriinng

NBA draft isnt far away. borriing

see, i'm just the opposite. i like baseball b/c the entire season is like one big game. in football, you have games on the weekend, and then overanalyze all week. baseball you always have new highlights, always new news, and a constantly updating playoff race. not to mention the free agent market and disabled list is (at least seemingly) more active than in any other league.

[Edited on April 13, 2007 at 3:03 PM. Reason : it's just great. sportscenter is actually different night to night during baseball season.]

This is actually one of my favorite times of the Sports Year. I love football season, but at least now there's something to watch every night. To each his own, I guess.

^ True

It is also trendy now to hate on baseball as boring and just a bunch of steroid users even though the NFL has a horrible steroid testing program and is full of HGH monsters.

I hate on baseball because its boring as sin to watch and all the highlights look the exact same.

But I am aware that some could make that complaint against basketball too, I just dont share it.

^^true although season length is a big reason why nfl > nba, mlb but those are still the 3 best pro sports leagues

^^ Highlights are basically the same in all sports. Wow a fifty yard TD pass, a punt return for a TD, a 500 ft homerun, an alley hoop.

Everyone knows this is truth.

Say what you want about NBA basketball, but watch the Warriors v. Jazz game tonight or the Suns v. Spurs later on this week, you will definitely appreciate the competition.

DO NOT WATCH ANYTHING INVOLVING THE NETS OR THE CAVS. I CANNOT BELIEVE ON OF THOSE TWO TEAMS ARE GOING TO MAKE THE EASTERN CONFERNCE FINALS.

thanks.

actually, don't you think it's a shame that either the jazz or warriors are definitely in the finals? while either the suns or spurs definitely aren't?

when you say finals, you mean the conference finals, right?

The Warriors beat the #1 seed, so it is obviously going to make the matchups different, but thats what happens when the #1 seed loses. it becomes wide open.

The east on the other hand...

I have never seen a playoff more fucked up by one regular season game. If the nets hadn't beat the bulls on the final day of the season, the Eastern Conf. seedings would have been as follows:

1st round
#1 Detroit
vs.
#8 Orlando

#4 Miami
vs.
#5 Cleveland

#2 Chicago
vs.
#7 Washington

#3 Raptors
vs.
#6 New Jersey

2nd round?
Detroit v. Miami

Chicago v. New Jersey

That would have been so much better. Those finals are going to be very anti-climactic the way they are now.

Right after the NBA NHL playoffs are over with: (I don't care about the NBA)
-College baseball just ended (unless NCSU ends up in the college world series)
-No college football
-No college basketball
-No NFL for a few more months
-Baseball is right in the middle of a very long season
-NASCAR is right in the middle of a very long season
-No MAJOR sporting events other than Wimbledon, the US open (Golf), and the MLB all star game for the next month and a half

I'm a more of a casual baseball and NASCAR fan, and don't watch the NBA at all (hence the few edits) but I'd agree here.

It is the beginning of the fall semester when football is boring, the basketball team has not even practiced yet, and there is not much else to watch other than baseball.

BUT, for some reason baseball is really hoppin' this summer. I am even starting to watch it as often as I can (Reds FTW), so hoefully this upcoming fall will not be so hosh-posh freaking boring.
