how does this scam work?

He'll send you a fake cashier's check for $36k with some bullshit excuse about how they made an error and it will take too much trouble to cancel the check and get a new one made. Fortunately, he trusts you and he will let you cash the check and send him the extra $7000.

Two weeks later your bank notifies you that the cashier's check was a forgery and you're out $7000 from your personal checking/savings account. He never arranges pickup of the car or anything like that.

Basically it relies on a system where the bank accepts the check and it looks like the money went into your account. As soon as they find out that the check is a fake that some dude had printed up they will snatch the money out of your account and you are stuck.

He's just some overseas pussy. You can give him your address or a fake and collect the check just to waste his time and fuck with him a little. If you give him your real addy you'll get a nice souvenir to keep from the deal.
