I'm glad Stern nixed him. Now if we could just get rid of the Mavericks' owner.

OK, I am sorry that I was deprived of the origin of this joke. Will someone please enlighten me. I am assuming by the reactions that I have received that it comes from a NCSU coaching alum. Possibly Valvano or Case?

Yes, I know this is newbish if this is a NCSU coach, but please share the knowledge.

Good to see that guy get what he deserved. I thought that Stern would stick to his usual policy of siding with the refs no matter the situation.

Excellent move on Stern's part. I thought the suspension was totally warranted, and I don't even think Duncan should be fined for saying that "Joey has a vendetta against me" because obviously he did/does. To top it off, Crawford was only suspended for essentially the playoffs, Stern was never going ot fire him, and if Crawford felt he was right and that his pride was wounded that seriously, then the NBA just ridded itself of one serious ego maniac, and a referee no less. Excellent move again by the Commissioner.

"Sometimes, you watch these guys -- it's not just Crawford or that diva of the college game, Ted Valentine -- and wonder whether there is a persecution complex/power trip associated with putting that whistle in the mouth. Instead of serving as levelheaded stewards of the game vested with the authority to enforce fair play, they occasionally come across as bouncers in a bad mood while juicing on Dianabol. "

Larry Rose is the guy who T'd up our bench for wiping up perspiration in the midst of MD's big comeback in the 04 ACCT...Mike Wood, the guy who starred down bennerman in Chapel Hill also comes to mind as a showboat official
