just got back. Amazing movie, better than the first two imo. I can't name a trilogy off the top of my head that had a better third movie than first or second. There is alot of shaky cam, it kind of got to me the first ten minutes, but you get used to it after that. 8/3/2007 7:49:19 PM |

i think these movies try to hard to make it a thriller when it is just an action movie
some of my nitpicky things, in at least 2 of the movies he can look through windows into CIA offices and in this one, landy has a monitor pointed at the window and the whazhisface, main 'villain' is handling top secret documents in front of the window.
do we still have to post Spoiler Alert in TWW movie threads?
also, why did bourne tell the guy he was in his office? he would have had zero trouble if he had kept his mouth shut. his only reason to talk to him was to get the name to get into the safe.
also, did they really expect to surprise people that he was alive at the end? how shocking!
i really like the fight scenes in these and all the other films as well as the portrayal of CIA and Black Ops.
the car/bike scenes, however, are overrated based on expectations going in. 8/3/2007 11:30:16 PM |

so I saw it tonight and it rocked
the shaky cam did get tedious a couple times, virtually every shot in the entire movie that wasn't bird's eye was handheld or steadicam i guess.
but then i did some thinking and i can't imagine the movie not being shot like that, i dunno why.
so
A+++ will view again
and the car crash was pretty sweet
and "we'd be face to face" had everyone in the theater bein' like OH SNAP haha
shit all the car stuff was great, how he used the car as a weapon ramming into shit, badass
"he just drove off the roof" had me rollin'

i liked it, although not as much as the first two.
they are all great - its just for some reason this one Bourne never really felt like he was in danger much. He was so far above and beyond every else. I mean there was a lot of time spent just him maneuvering to get out of surveillance.
Lots of shaky cam too, at times I was a little bit swimming...but i had had like tons of drinks prior to the movie so..ya know. 8/4/2007 12:57:30 AM |

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good as well. A nice solid sequel to a sequel. One thing I did notice was he wasn't "flying around" and using fake passports as much as in the previous movies.

yeah, there was a fourth and now a fifth book (bourne legacy, bourne betrayal). I haven't read any of the bourne books, even Ludlom's, so I'm not sure if the last two continue with the books or the movie. However, I have read where the movies went so far away from the books that they didn't even have a full script for the beginning of production and had to really just make it up as they went along. 8/5/2007 4:53:45 PM |

I usually don't enjoy scenes I've already seen in a trailer, but that one was an exception. The setup that you don't see in the trailer and the feelings you develop against that grey haired guy make it very enjoyable8/5/2007 7:20:34 PM |

Quote : | "$70m haul makes Bourne the ultimate August movie
Staff and agencies Monday August 6, 2007 Guardian Unlimited
The Bourne Ultimatum No 1 son... Matt Damon in The Bourne Ultimatum. The Bourne Ultimatum broke records at the US box office by earning a mammoth $70.2m (£35m) in its opening weekend. The film's debut haul is the biggest August opening weekend ever, and spelled further good news for Hollywood's summer season.
Directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon, The Bourne Ultimatum easily overshadowed the opening weekend tallies of its predecessors. The Bourne Identity made $27.1m (13.2m) in 2002, while The Bourne Supremacy earned $52.5m (£25.7m) in 2005." |

overall i thought the movie was great - a few action scenes with the motorcycles/scooters were slightly bad and i wish they would have had the fax machine actually faxing instead of scanning documents - maybe they had a special fax machine i've never seen before that sends as it scans.... 8/6/2007 10:53:56 AM |

Some of the phones they were using in the CIA building looked like they had probably had cameras. They wouldn't be allowed to take them into secure areas. Spy movies never follow real security protocols.8/6/2007 11:07:29 AM |

I know HP has one. It sends the file as a PDF
Also, I did not fully understand why Bourne got into Treadstone. He said it was to save american lives, but why not just join the regular army? And why did they pick him? Did he have high test scores?

They referred to him as "Captain Webb" so he was probably a badass, and was obviously already in the American armed forces, and they needed a top level assassin to eliminate people around the world who were threats to America. He probably got tired of just being in the Army, and wanted a new challenge.

yea but things like that where they [i]might[/b] have a camera and the average person doesnt automatically think a camera phone wouldn't be allowed is different from the obvious in your face "guy showing top secret documents in front of a window.8/6/2007 7:01:09 PM |

are you actually saying that the fax machine HP makes sends part of the pdf file before it created the whole file? what kind of retarded is this?
one of the main reasons they don't send the fax until the end is because of things like a paperjam or some other malfunction...i'm pretty sure all of them on the market are like this - i'd love to see this magical HP one that sends part of a file it's not done creating yet8/6/2007 10:59:20 PM |
