I doubt they will make it look the same. they might take alot of core concepts from WoW, but they wouldnt want people to think its the same damn thing with different skins. There needs to be a reason to play it and now WoW.

as someone else said, im sure it'll be in many years after they sap WOW's market dry. reasons to play a new mmo? why does anyone switch one they like...to try something new. will WOW players still be around too? sure, the ones that dont want to let go...just like eq vs eq2.

The new race should be either cock diesel monkeys or dolphins.

Thank God, I can't stand micromanagement.

HD Trailer is freaking sweet. Protoss Mothership has some amazing abilities, and the physics engine is awesome.

So now I'm excited. I know the game is a ways off, but now we know it's coming (just like Starcraft Ghost... oooh, burn) and that's a nice feeling. I'm excited, but I imagine my excitement level is a drop in the bucket compared to that of nearly any Korean. Our excitement level has nothing on these people. Starcraft is better than sex for Koreans. Starcraft cures cancer, paves roads, delivers babies and then proceeds to raise the babies to be upstanding Starcraft-playing citizens of Korea. Who are then treated like movie stars ust for being good at Starcraft, I kid you not. For Koreans, a Starcraft tournament is like the Super Bowl.

I'll bet at least one person's head exploded Saturday after the announcement. And how much would it suck to be the guy standing next to the guy whose head exploded?"

if they really want to go more large scale with this game, they should make multiple levels of battle ie on fight on the surface, one in orbit, one just outside the star system, that would be cool

New footage of the ready room before you go on missions. MUCH more dynamic and interesting that starcraft 1.

In addition, you can make an easy leap to a MMO with the way they set this up.

I saw Star2 at Blizzcon. It's Amazing!

The same control UI "feel" of Starcraft is still there, with selecting and right click to move. Almost all of the keyboard shortcuts are still the same. Nice additions: You can tell a builder to build a building in a location with units on it. The units move out of the way. There's an "idle worker" icon, like in War3.

It's really REALLY pretty.

There aren't any heros, as was in War3, to great relief. The terrans have "Thor" a giant mech that they can build ONE of at the top of the tech tree. Protoss have a mothership. No word yet on zerg units.

Supply depots can sink into the ground and let things walk over them. When CCs land, the SCVs appear -- I didn't actually try this out though, I saw it in a Star2 gameplay panel later. I'm not sure if they just carry a set number of 5 SCVs or what.

Protoss gateways make a crapton of units now, and can get upgraded to warp them in wherever you have pylons. And shuttles can be upgraded to deploy into pylons wherever you want. ZOMG.

UNIT UPGRADES CAN BE QUEUED

^oh yeah, non-linear storyline. as a terran you can select missions and get to know the terran world, instead of "going from tileset to tileset" as they said at blizzcon. zerg -- doesn't make sense to have missions. Kerrigan is back, and she's still pretty mad. Protoss are still jerking off with the xel'naga stuff.
