^ since we haven't heard of cancellation already I'd think the series is safe. Production has already wrapped for the season..

CBS would piss off a lot of fans if they just canceled the show (or any show that is written to answer 1 ultimate question at the series finale) at the up-fronts without allowing the writers to end the series. If CBS really didn't want to continue the show, they would've decided during the winter hiatus.

We know who the mother is. It was revealed last season.

You're wrong. in the Lucky Penny episode he says that if he would have gotten the job and had to move he wouldn't have been in NY to meet the mother which means he hadn't yet met her. The show hasn't shown the mother yet.

I watch this show and Scrubs and that is all for sitcoms (wel, occasionally I'll watch 2.5 Men). HIMYM is definitely my favorite TV show though...

It sounds unlikely it is going to be cancelled. I would be pissed if it was..

I may be wrong about Victoria. I must have misunderstood something.

Apparently Rules of Engagement actually does better than HIMYM, which astounds me. The awesomeness that is Patrick Warburton does not overcome the lowliness of David Spade in my book.

"The Hollywood Reporter confirms that CBS is likely to maintain a Monday night comedy block that includes third seasons of "HIMYM" and "Christine," as well as a second run of mid-season comedy "Rules." Those three would carry the night along with returning hit "Two and a Half Men," a move that would mean the end of "The Class" and would also suggest that none of CBS' new comedy pilots would be on the air in the fall."

confirmed as renewed: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=7389

has anyone noticed that the networks are canning a lot of shows, some good, and greenlighting a shit ton of new ones that all seem to be old show refreshes or stupid stories?? Go read the summaries for the NBC dramas.
Jericho and the Class should be given a second season.. come on Rules of Engagement?? typical david spade crap..

Looks like the CW is just tossing out their entire drama lineup (now that Veronica Mars is leaning towards cancellation) and starting fresh with new shows or going all reality.. the CW is putting the nails in their own coffin now.

Thank God this is coming back though.. next season should and must be legen... wait for it.. dary....

"4:26: Starting with Monday night, Nina describes How I Met Your Mother as the show that "gets the assistants buzzing in the halls." Read between the lines, people.

4:35: New Monday sitcom Big Bang Theory is being billed by CBS as the season's "smartest new comedy." If you're an idiot. Seriously, this show looks heinous.
"

If he's right about BBT, then I'm gonna be pissed that they canned the Class over it.
