I tried using a wheel with one of those TV wooden tables, but they are too high.

So now I just do the wheel in the lap and the pedals on carpet.

You almost need some kind box with a ledge so you can clamp on to that and still have the wheel at arm's length.

i think im gonna make something out of a piece of plywood and 2x4s....something that stands on the floor but puts a table like right above your lap when you sit on the couch...

racing with the wheel on the lap is alright but to me you lose that stability

yeah well i'm going to call up sparco order a seat and weld up a mount for the steering wheel & pedals.... and i'm going to get some of those shaker sub thingys to mount to the bottom...

2k later the perfect racing chair...

you know, if you do what i did it helps a lot with the lap mount. I just clamped the wheel to a big piece of wood and that sits on my lap...this way when i jerk the wheel hard to the right or left it doesn't take the base with it since my lap isn't what you call, a solid surface. heh
