^^That movie was the first that came to mind. I thought Kidman's accent needed some work and Jude Law had a really good accent in a few scenes but it was really hit or miss overall.

What's worse a accent that changes dramatically in different scenes or a consistent bad accent?

Also there's a show called Still Standing with the big guy from Knights Tale in which he has the weirdest accent.

DiCaprio in the Aviator.

And #1 on the list must be Van Der Beek in Varsity Blues.

^ i think a better complaint about those instances would be about boston accents in general

aha, my accent is odd... parents from central US (mid-west to the rest of you peons) formative language learning years with BBC and NPR and whatever else wasn't censored (PBS) and a myriad of foreign languages and accents... been down heah for a biit too long and as a result have a odd slight southern accent

My mother-in-law and her side of the family is Rhodesian, and that's pretty much exactly how they talk. The accent was about 90% there, and the figures of speech were exact. I don't like leonardo dicaprio... but he actually pulled that one off.

i love life aquatic, but owen wilson's accent was bad. "ahh don' usually trae graass"

who did really well as far as accents go was kate winslet in eternal sunshine. she had to work on her american accent for that and would prank call michel gondry, the director, when she had it down.

Not a movie, but Sayid's (from Lost) Iraqi accent sounds like an Indian who was brought up in the UK.

I know it isn't a movie, but Hugh Laurie does an amazing job in House hiding his accent. When I hear him speak normally, it is incredible to notice the difference.

Owen Wilson in The Life Aquatic. Some scenes he has an accent, some he dosen't. When he does it is a pretty bad one. I love the movie though.

I'm surprised no one said Halle Berry in the first X-Men. She sounded so horrible they just dropped the accent all together in the second and third.

A friend and I had this really long discussion talking about this, and I completely agree with you. He has that really "deep", scratchy voice with it and it was really annoying to me. My friend says that's "how Batman is portrayed in the comics".
