that's why we went to kauai - it's the least touristy and main stream commercialized of the hawaiian islands - overall, food will be the biggest expense more than likely - we went to plenty of burger joints and local places but it's your honeymoon so live it up and eat a few good meals - with $5000 you have a decent number of options

i ran the idea by her and even told her it was recommended by ^ and ^^ and it went down in flames

she made me our first home cooked meal tonight though and it was great....except i had to do the damn dishes

poi was a waste of time - i tried it at smith's luau - just about has no taste which would mean it couldn't be that bad it would seem but the pasty texture just makes it worse - i would probably eat it if everything else on the island was inedible but when it's set amongst amazing food it stands out as the worst thing - the only good thing about it was they had little cups to put it in so it wouldn't mix with everything

I never got why they make such a big deal out of it. If it was really really good or really really nasty, then i can see it, but it's so underwhelming that you're just like wtf.

i was expecting it to be on the level of blood pudding.

but it was more like eating wax.

heh - i wish i could say we've just been sitting around watching tv - but we haven't had a minute of downtime yet - we haven't even sent out the hawaii pictures yet and it seems like someone in our family calls all the time to ask about the trip and where are the pictures - it's been nothing but constant unpacking/organizing - parents are coming to see the new place in 3 weeks - yesterday we tackled the garage and i'm pretty impressed - our 2 car garage isn't enourmous by any means so to get both of our cars in there with all of the crap i have it took some careful organizing - the house is still a wreck upstairs - but we do have a new bedroom suite being delivered today - on top of all of that exciting fun stuff....lora started work this morning

as of now i've got a project that is going to be in raleigh for 2-3 weeks probably starting next week - and we are back in raleigh this weekend though because lora is singing in a wedding (and ole girl is wearing the same dress - at the same church - i can only imagine how many times i'm going to have to say ours was better and she looked better in the dress) - i'm definitely going out at least one night with the ppl - i'll make sure lora calls laurie with whatever the plans are

the sister-in-law is coming down to stay with us until the 3rd - i'm catching a ride back with her from rtp - we are stopping in charlotte to have dinner with one of the brother-in-laws to meet his new girl that he met on the bus - i have a feeling a lot of money will be spent by wifey and the sister - i'll be broke by tuesday
