It should be in stores on the 20th (along with everything else that isn't coming out next week).

And if you have pre-ordered at Gamestop/Best Buy/etc. you should go pick up your bonus DVD if you haven't already.

HOLY SHIT

For those interested in the combat engine of the game, check this short video out. I think it looks fucking amazing, the weapon samples sound so damn cool and scifi, graphics are awesome, definitely can see the unreal engine in this. Just, wow.

Saw the gameplay vid of Mass Effect. I didn't see anything that stood out that much. I must be missing something.

It's an RPG with a first person combat system.

^^^ The blue aliens are technically genderless and you can have a romantic interaction with them regardless of your character's gender. That being said, they look like women so that's just their slick excuse to slip lesbian relationships past the ultra-nazi ESRB.

It didn't really work, unless maybe it kept them from getting an AO rating.
