^^ My wife does have a brother, but he's nothing like me. He's the more sensitive type. Or as I like to call him, a big soggy vagina. But if you still want to spot leukemia reseach the sawbuck, you'd be doing some good.

Honestly, when people are sick, they really want people to treat them normal and not dwell. I have also been on the receiving side of the joke and speak from experience, he knows that you did not believe him at first and was joking. Honestly, your friend most likely is not dwelling on it, so you should not dwell either.

Take the family dinner at the hospital or gift cards for food. If he has family staying at the hospital with him, it gets expensive quick and you often forget to take care of yourself.

If the guy had joked about having potentially-fatal medical conditions before, then you're not an asshole.

If he hadn't joked about that before, then you're an asshole.
