Quote : | "If he did, TNA wouldn't be around. Neither would ROH. He has a powerful empire, but not a monopoly. In fact, I think McMahon would rather see other companies thrive because the competition would be good for the wrestling business." |
He only likes them around because they pose no legitimate threat to his company. When WCW was kicking his ass, he lost his shit trying to catch up with them (and they literally lost their shit for a multitude of reasons). If TNA or ROH ever got anywhere close to Vince, he'd do everything in his power to squash them.6/13/2007 12:28:30 PM |

WRESTLING IS FAKE
Insult wrestling fans all you want, but you're the one who posted this:
Quote : | "This was a rather thoughtless promo by wwe. A Sold Out Area gets rocked with an explosion outside. I am sure this Mom was not the only one thinking they could have been under attack. What if a fan had been trampled to death in a mad rush to exit the building?" |
To support what Cherokee said, this is in Meltzer this morning:
Quote : | "Both imdb.com and contactmusic.com ran news pieces based on the WWE web site report that Vince was presumed dead in the fire, but did say initial reports were skeptical McMahon was actually killed and it may have been an elaborate stunt. WWE was No. 1 and Vince McMahon was No. 3 on the yahoo buzz index, so there are a lot of people on the Internet searching for updates." |
"an elaborate stunt"
I have no words.
---
In other news, I had a dream last night that the ten-month storyline this creates ends with Bret Hart being revealed as Vince's killer and taking over as on-screen WWE president.
Then I woke up.

In "John Cena Sucks" news, Cena was on Fast Cars & Superstars last night, and lost a race to Jewel.

I bet the lines will be full by like 1:00 to see Cena. Kids and women love the guy. Smarks really hate Cena.
Definition of "smark":
Quote : | "Smark, (contraction of "smart mark") A phrase coined by internet smart marks to describe a fan who enjoys pro wrestling despite or because they know that it is staged. Brian Pillman cut an in-famous promo about smarks when he made his debut in ECW. (compare "mark")." |

Granted, the current WWE shows suck in comparison to what was going on during the Monday Night Wars (before WCW stopped caring), but wrestling is what it is: melodrama with body slams, and primarily melodrama. 6/17/2007 3:28:08 AM |

^^^I thought about that one being the other exception, but I just hate Jeff Hardy too much to give him credit. He's a spotfest and nowhere NEAR the quality of the spots he pulled off 5-6 years ago. Matt is actually a pretty good wrestler, he just needs to quit yelling like a dipshit before half of his moves. 6/18/2007 5:34:33 PM |

Word on the street is that if Smackdown ratings don't increase, they're going to fast-track the McMahon angle and move on. I don't like where it's going so far: the new video packages of the explosion have close-up of Vince's sinister look as he climbs in the limo (is that a re-shoot?), and last night Stephanie looked around and put a HUGE pregnant pause in her speech after she said "My father is the most important person in my life...I mean, was." This angle could be worse than we ever imagined. 6/19/2007 2:31:09 PM |
