as a Flyers fan, I'm ecstatic that we got Briere, with him and Gagne together that's going to be awesome. They did pay an awful lot though, hope this doesn't mean Pitkanen is gone. We could use the future Brian Leetch.

I like Lupol, but I don't know about that trade. What's really bad for the Flyers though (and pens, devils, and islanders) is NY now has Gomez AND Drury.

^ You better take care of Gomer you damn dirty Rag lover!

Man, too bad msfag only shows up to gloat about the Bananaslugs. I'd love to see his face now that they lost Crybaby Briere and Drury. Owned.

I really hope that Scotty doesn't retire, but if he does then I am glad that he got one last Cup.

It doesn't really count when a team has two captains and you take the shitty one though.

Pens also signed Sydor and Sykora. That should give them some offense, but they will still struggle to score goals

you think i really care we aren't throwing our money at players, we get all our players from our ahl team, where do you think vanek, pominville, gaustad and stafford came from, our team keeps replenishing itself with new players, we'll be fine and under cap

^^do you mean those 2 players will struggle to score goals, or the Pens overall. B/c they have a pretty decent looking group of forwards now.

also, Nashville's lookin pretty shitty now

You'll have enough players, sure, and probably dig up some good ones, but what about a CAPTAIN?

Briere is irrelevant other than scoring, but it's gonna be really fucking tough to replace Drury.

As for being under cap...that's the point of the cap. You can't be over it.

replacing drury will be hard, we can go with connelly provided he stays healthy, go with vanek, though he might not be ready or go with a veteren like tempo numminen, all depends on who is ready to step up this year and lead

The mere fact that you would suggest Thomas Vanek (a player I love, but not captain material) illustrates my point wonderfully.

There's no one on that team who can adequately replace Drury.

Maybe they can just give everyone on the roster the chance to be captain like in 03-04!

The Rangers gave one to Shanahan right off the bat and with Nylander leaving I don't really see why we wouldn't, not to mention the fact that I can't really think of anyone we'd give it to over him. He's a proven winner and leader.

edit: I'll miss Ortmeyer though

yep, that's all your players! where did Briere come from? how bout Drury? your boy Connolly? Spacek? Numminen? I could keep going, but I think I've made my point.

Aside from that dumbass, the Caps have made some (unfortunately) nice moves so far.
