Oh I think it's his most depressing. At least moreso than Dogville, Manderlay or Breaking the Waves. If he has something more depressing, dear lord don't tell me.
And sorry, I don't mean to. 6/22/2007 12:01:36 AM |

Donnie Darko ?
I saw this film about three Asian kids abandonded by their mom in this apartment, the one kid dies and the others almost starve, nobody will help them then the movie just ends. I forget the title but if you watched it you'll remember.
I second Schindler's List as well. 6/23/2007 11:43:52 PM |

I'll definitely second A.I. I remember the whole "were the people at the end aliens or robots?" conversations that followed.
Also, and this is pretty ironic, "The Passion of the Christ" left you with a pretty soulless feeling at the end. Not a knock on the movie, but nobody was smiling on the way out of that one.
Oh, and what was that movie with Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, and Natalie Portman on relationships? That one, too. 6/24/2007 12:02:15 PM |

Ah ha, my wife corrected me, in fact it was about four Japanese kids, the title is "Nobody Knows".
Not that this will help much but,
