For those of you that don't get Telefutura for Spanish coverage or GolTV for English coverage (which I don't), you can still watch the game, albeit in Spanish, at univision.com where it will be streamed live. Just click on "transmision en vivo" or some button like that.

I'm thinking 1-1 draw for the U.S. tonight.

aha, that had to be one of the most selfish displays i've ever seen

and castillo's goal was a tremendous display of control, even if he couldn't throw it in the ocean from a a submarine at the twilight of the match

i'm going to say 2-1 Argentina tonight

^,^^ predicting that the US scores a goal tonight is a bit generous. eddie johnson is the only striker who can somewhat compete at an international level, and taylor twellman, albeit a terror in the MLS, hasn't proven his worth yet. That combined with the pourous defense and inexperienced midfield we're sending, i fully expect argentina to win tonight in a route. I hope i'm wrong, but i don't see it happening. you just can't expect a team full of 2nd string americans to compete well against the strongest attacking team in this tournament. Messi, Tevez, and Crespo will be running circles around us tonight, and it will most likely get ugly. I don't really expect the stars and stripes to score more than 2 goals this entire tournament. bob bradley really has his work cut out for him tonight, and its a shame that in his first opportunity to fight some big boys, he doesn't have his first team.

I thought it was more of USSF's decision to focus on the Gold Cup.

^^ I agree, I can't see the US scoring a goal tonight but if Keller's in goal, I don't think it'll be too bad... I'm going to say 2-0.

Paraguay spanked Columbia not much of a game. Hopefully the US will put up a fight.

We're playing on our heels the whole game so far. Any attack is snuffed out by shitty passing on our part. We're lucky to be tied 1-1. With that said, go USA, i smell upset if we can score more goals then Argentina

I think Bradley's keeping close to the vest so we don't get killed on a counter.

something has to change at halftime, im not worried about an argentina counter since they can attack without countering, but there is no way we hold them off the whole 2nd half(assuming the rest of the 1st) with the way we are playing right now

It's listed as Copa America: USA vs Argentina on there for me..

Anyway, solid back line in the first half definitely. Sloppy on that first set piece but they aren't giving Messi anytime at all.. Too bad Donovan isn't on the team (I really don't get that... it's not like MLS would have stopped him...)

^ well Eddie Johnson needs to fly by Mascherano.. no reason for him to slow up...

^^ I hate the English soccer influence on our play. The English style is so completely stupid, "just lob the ball, it'll find the net hopefully!"

well i cant be mad about the scoreline, we have hardly threatened, unless we kick start some offense, then argentina deserves a win

argentina is just quicker and more hungry for the ball

the front defender was terribly positioned on the cross, he was the one who jumped and missed the ball on the header, he was pretty much out in no mans land in between the winger who crossed and where the ball was obviously going to go

justin mapp, can you make your move to the left anymore obvious, youve done that twice in the 2nd half and easily denied by the defender, enjoy this copa america, i do not hope to see you back on the US roster in the future unless you learn to use your right foot

last thing to get off my chest. if bradley is playing younger people for this cup, why is keller in the nets? not blaming him in the least for this(he prob shouldve saved the 2nd goal), but i believe we might as well play a young keeper too

^looked close, but i like the no call, id rather see more gameplay and less whistles

Anybody complaining about strategy in this game isn't really thinking. Our only chance to keep it close with the roster we had was to get an early goal and put 11 behind the ball. You can't play attacking soccer with no playmaker and no forwards worth a damn. We were totally outclassed at every position from the beginning of the game.

As for Keller in goal, he was probably included to have some kind of captain/leadership role at the tournament. Landy, Boca, Pablo, and I think maybe Timmy Tourettes have been the captains since Reyna left and none of them were going to play in the tournament. I was also under the impression Guzan was going to play at least one of the games in the tournament instead of Keller.

This scoreline should've been expected but the whole thing just really sucks. Any casual soccer fan is going to see it and say, "Well, USA still sucks at soccer, Argentina just demolished them 4-1." I'm not saying we would've won with all of our starters, but we will never earn respect if we don't take these kind of games seriously.

even with an inferior squad we couldve played better, a few passes on the ground and more forward instead of pulling back and backpasses wouldve helped.

eddie johnson and justin mapp learning how to dribble again could also help.

the defense did ok except on set pieces(miserable).

i never expected us to win this game if you look at previous posts before the game, but i do believe we couldve played better

Yeah, we probably could've played better, but it's pretty much what was expected. It's just troubling to me that Twellman/EJ are still getting caps... they've had plenty of opportunities and they're always the same disappointment.

I really really really hope Altidore pans out because I'm not sure who else we can put out there in a couple of years.

And as for Mapp, I've never understood why people hype him up so much. There's never been any question to me Beasley was the better option between the two but there always seems to be discussion about it.

Oh and while I'm complaining, let me add - can we please get an American that can take free kicks and corners?

god yes, as shown in this game free kicks can be devestating when you do them correctly, i hate seeing terrible shots over the goal and crosses right into the front man/wall/way off target...it just seems like it happens all the time with US crosses/corners/freekicks
