it better be squidly diddly, anything else at this point is going to be a letdown

what would be interesting is if they made this trailer just to get people guessing what it's about, throwing out ideas, then the studio takes the best of those and makes the movie from them

from a timetable perspective that wouldn't work but it's an interesting concept someone should do

1-18-08.com is one of the sites that they keep slowly posting pictures. Right now there are three that go from the party and everyone having fun around midnight (look at the time stamps) to two girls looking like they are really freaked out about 30 minutes later, to another one of people running through smoke or something a little later.

What is cool is you can move the pictures around for some reason. I don't know if this is to arrange them to figure stuff out or what, but this movie is setting up a cool little marketing campaign, whether you like it or not, someone is doing a great job a creating a buzz. Even if you think it is stupid, you at least know about it, and I'm pretty sure you are interested to find out more, even if you think the movie will suck..

no I kind of agree. it would be okay if its about 25% hand video, first-person camera to give ithe movie a feeling of what its like to be there in the midst of chaos. But if the entire movie is that way (a la Blair Witch) then its gonna be a pain in the ass to watch.

Are you kidding? Overuse of the shaky camera has only grown since blair witch. Pretty much every action movie uses it now, so action scenes have become shitty.

Shaky cameras that zip from one closeup to another is the preferred way for action movies to compensate for lousy choreography.

if you watch the trailer well enough before and during the "girl behind the curtain" scene, you can see she's infected ( I do believe its a major character). If you listen close enough you can hear a type of "gushy liquid filling up" noise and see the girl go from regular frame to Jabba the Hutt in 1 second.

i'm assuming this monster is filled with a killer and (perhaps contagious) disgusting poison like in Sliver. and the government knows about it ahead of time, and that is why we see so many Haz-mat teams. otherwise how the fuck would you know about it in less than 7 hours. which leads me to believe in a more Cthulhu monster.

blair witch cost like 60 grand to shoot and they made millions. filmmakers learned that shaky cam is a great way to cut costs and people will still watch the movie
