What do you mean by a "decent lull in games"? Oh and now if you get a 8800 you're only set for "a couple of months."? huh?

So now video cards come out along with the games? Would you mean nvidia 89xx or what? Wait for what next "series" of games?

You were right about one thing, at least get something better than logitech. Atleast get klipsch or "splurge" and get these:

Besides the point, who cares what the frame rate in oblivion is? That game is absolute fucking garbage.

^^^I agree and disagree. I mean, the BEST possible time to buy from a super high end perspective is RIGHT when new technology hits. But even then you are only giving yourself a 6-8 month leg up max.

If he has a 10k budget, I could build a system that uses every dollar to the max. And yes it would absolutely include a 30" display and a REAL sound system. Nothing like ruining a high end rig with some shitty computer 5.1 setup and a soundblaster XIHIFI12.19911 PREMIUM +$4!! package.

You're retarded and should learn to read.

Futhermore, here's a pro-tip, if you want to play Call of Juarez or Oblivion you can:

spend $8,500 on a computer + game
OR
spend a little over $500 for the best XBox money can buy and the game itself.

Unless, of course, you think a couple of shaders are worth $8,000

martinlogan's are overhyped biiigtime. they arent terrible, but sure as shit not worth the price premium. almost as bad as bose. Keeping in mind I don't really know shit from a stick where pro-audio is concerned.

Also, I third the nomination that Oblivion is trash

^^^^never said anyone should spend over 4k on a pc. I didn't spend more than 2 grand on mine and i wasn't complaining about how any games played on my computer. I was simply commenting that it WAS possible to have a build utilize sli/raid or some of the more expensive features that would add to the gaming experience with regard to some of the newer games at higher resolutions.

You still didn't explain the recent "lull" in games, and how you're only "set" for the next couple of months with a newer vid. card.

What "next" generation of video cards? You mean the 89xx series? And what "next" series of games?

^^My buddy has some logans and they sound pretty good, and i had the link open.

^^^i enjoyed it enough to play through it once that's about it.

You should work on your reading comprehension. By saying someone is "set", it means they're "fine for" or "prepared". The next "OMG GOTTA PLAY THIS GAME NOW IN FULL RESOLUTIONED GLORY" game is Crysis and that's still 3 months away and I'm sure every other game released between now and then is going to be capable of running very well on a non-SLIed setup with a top-end video card.

Quote :
"What "next" generation of video cards? You mean the 89xx series?"

Yes, the new Nvidia and new ATI cards. God knows one of the two will do something before November.

Quote :
"And what "next" series of games?"

Crysis and all the 360/PC releases coming out over the next couple of months.

Are you seriously this dumb?

too many people talking out of the ass in here

there's only about 2-3 people on here that actually know what they're talking about, it doesn't take triple digit number of builds to know what you're doing.
