I hate how they said his family was from Greensboro, that's bullshit. La Grange is right near Kinston, and his family was in Goldsboro. Not to mention, the bodies came into Seymour Johnson AFB, in Goldsboro, not Ft. Bragg. Even though I'm from Fayetteville and it was cool to see Ft. Bragg, it wasn't accurate. Still a badass movie, though.

^You're right Guess it was done because people are more familiar with Greensboro and Ft. Bragg. Though greensboro was portrayed as a very rural place still. like La Grange. But even in the late 1960 Greensboro was a large urban city.

what a lame ass job of living up to the hype. the movie was boring at times and had too many irrelevant subplots. way to just piece together a bunch of events that happened in his life, show his rise and fall at the beginning and the end and call it a movie. way to have co-main characters. the movie was as much about catching lucas as it was about lucas himself.

They watered it down with subplots that were really useless. If you're going to make the movie 3 hours at least make at build up to a climax instead of he's a gangster, he's a gangster, he's a gangster, he's about to be caught....he's caught, movie over. the movie wasn't thrilling at all. Its hard to put a finger on what it was lacking but it just wasn't "hollywood". it was more like a documentary. actually, i've seen documentaries with more action.

Itchy seats...At most an hour of this movie was good and at least an hour of this movie was trash.

The movie was good, but it wasn't the be-all end-all people in this thread are hyping it up to be. Denzel Washington is always good, but I don't think it was all it could be.

There wasn't anything at all surprising, intriguing, or exciting.

Anyone who thinks THAT is a great movie has clearly bypassed watching The Wire which dwarves that unfulfilling three hours.

it never really grabbed you at all, you know that feeling you get when you react to stuff in the movie, like "OH SHIT DON'T GET CAUGHT NOW!!" etc. that feeling was missing

just rented this and watched it.

I liked the theatrical ending way better than the alternate ending..

basically, the alternate ending just added on an extra 3-4 minutes with him talking to Crowe's character...

overall, pretty good movie!

yeah its a pretty good movie...the only reason i was mildly disappointed was some of the critics were trying to put it in the same class as Casino, Goodfellas, etc...and its certainly not
