Chargers secondary has ADD. Lienhart is pulling some tecmo bowl shit where he just run backwards then throws a long ass bomb.

Adrian Wilson is fucking nasty. He's in on every play.
That last Lorenzo Neal play would have been sick if he held on to the ball. 8/25/2007 11:10:25 PM |

can yall just cheer on p riv and not the whole team? This whole idea of charger bandwagon fans seems to still urk me, I didn't think it would but it does I mean come on what about the rams with holt or the texans with mario.... 8/29/2007 2:52:04 PM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
yeah, I dont understand the bandwagoning either.
I mean it's not like Rivers took NC State to the biggest bowl game in the last 20 years, or maybe ever for that matter. I mean, he didnt break loads of ACC records while at NC State.
It's certainly not because he is a good guy and a great representation of the University, nor is it easy to get behind a star from your own university who now plays for a great team.
I mean damn, it would be another story if he was the leader of the Chargers, or if he touched the ball on EVERY snap like Mario Williams and Torry Holt do, but he doesnt. Nope, not Rivers. I dont know about you, but it's nearly friggin' impossible to feel good about this story and pull for the Chargers, especially considering that he is someone who has almost zero influence on the outcome of the game.
I just dont get it.

Neither one of those players had a fraction of an impact that Philip did. Torry's nasty, and it as awesome to see an NC State boy go #1 in the draft, but Rivers is a God around NC State. I pull for them individually, but I think because Philip is the qb, I pull for the whole team and want them to win.
My name is Charlie and I'm a bandwagon Chargers fan. 8/29/2007 3:02:52 PM |

Because, unlike a WR or a DE, a quarterback's success is ultimately measured in wins. 8/29/2007 3:08:50 PM |

hopefully you didnt actually attend NC State during the Rivers period and are seriously asking that question.
Like ^, and ^^ said, Rivers was not only the cream of the crop at NC State and the ACC, he was one of the best ~5 QB's in the nation, and probably the best to stay all 4 years.

LaDainian Tomlinson doesn’t play in preseason games. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t doing anything uni-notable — it just means most of us can’t see what he’s up to. Fortunately, reader Ryan Luz — who happens to be an assistant equipment manager at U. of San Diego — has been paying close attention, and he’s noticed a some interesting new developments regarding LT’s headwear:
Okay, so you know what LT’s normal facemask and visor look like — just the standard dark tint and a standard three-bar facemask, like this. Within the last week or two, however, he began wearing a new at training camp. This new visor was reflective and blue.
Then he did something I’ve never seen before — well, two things, actually. First, he wore this new facemask that’s like nothing I’ve seen before. Just very odd, very unique, something I’ve never seen in all of my football equipment managing days.
But the weirdest thing isn’t the facemask. If you look closely at this photo again, you’ll see he’s wearing TWO visors. It appears as though he’s wearing the new blue, reflective visor underneath the old standard tinted visor. This is another thing I’ve never seen before.
Since LT doesn’t play preseason games, it’s not yet clear if this is just some practice thing, or if he will use this configuration in games. Meanwhile, I’m currently scouring the internet trying to find what type of facemask that is, but neither Schutt nor Adams shows that mask on their sites, and I’m 90% sure it isn’t a Riddell, because they stick mostly with the traditional masks.
Some quick background: Wearing a tinted visor requires special permission from the NFL (in Tomlinson’s case, it’s because he has a light-sensitivity condition that can lead to migraines), but nobody is allowed to wear a colored or reflective visor. Ronnie Brown, for example, was fined for wearing this sunburst-patterned visor in 2005. So is Tomlinson’s dual-visor setup a way for him to hide the contraband visor behind the kosher one? Bizarre.

Gameday!
Anyone know where you can find the regional maps of what games they are going to show?
Fox has 3 games at 4:15, Chicago at San Diego, Tampa Bay at Seattle, and Detroit at Oakland. I will probably have to watch the bucs. 9/9/2007 12:30:24 PM |
