I doubt an EVO would stop me from going off track. I like them a lot, and wouldn't mind one. You knew that, I really am jealous of you guys and your EVOs, no sarcasm. Not saying it's my favorite car, but one I'd very much like to own at some point. Ahmet 11/20/2007 11:00:19 AM |

I've been feeling the same sentiment as you Duke. I only wonder how much the LS1 would hurt the tossability of the FD.11/21/2007 12:04:02 AM |

^^ it only adds a total of 60 lbs, and it mounts lower in the chassis.
for that matter, most (or maybe all) of that extra weight is in the transmission, which is both very low and pretty much centrally located (longitudinally).
the LS1/T-56 combo is lighter than the I-6s in BMWs and Datsun Z-cars, and I think it's lighter than a turbo KA setup in a 240sx (not sure about a SR20DET swap, but at worst, I'm sure it's close).
I think even the Miata retains something like a 51/49% weight distribution, and if that's with a modified subframe, there's even more weight to be shed from the front with a tube-engine cradle from some of the companies. 11/21/2007 2:14:37 AM |

I'm living about an hour north of Seattle, now. I'll be in Raleigh about a week after that, but that won't do much good.
If you extend a similar offer once I move back to NC this coming summer, it'll be on like Donkey Kong.
