not entirely true, the mass at the end of the bat has more impact, but the mass of every part of the bat is important to how much force is transferred.

that or the moment is larger holding the ball correct way because the heavy part is farther from the center of rotation.

For the people not following here, it is about reducing the force necessary to swing the bat. Why reduce the size of the bat, when you can reduce the density of the material on the inside, thus keeping the same massive bat size and reducing weight.

you are transferring equal energy with the swing of the bat. After all, the speed of the ball is more important. Also, it is about getting contact and contact is one of the biggest aspects of hitting.
