Hey jbtilley, stop trolling. It is definitely looking better than the GC metroids. Read this:

-----------------------------
Speaking of pretty, the game is the best looking thing on the Wii by far. While by no means comparable to the level of graphics you'll find on the 360 or PS3, MP3 completely trumps the first two games in both beauty and scale, giving the game an epic feel while not sparing the small touches, like Samus's eyes reflected in the visor when you are in scan mode.

eh it was a solid, I'd say a great game but there was nothing really noteworthy or spectacular about it besides the name zelda

and it certainly wasn't a leap forward by any means, z targeting, epona they all carried over from ocarina of time, the world wasn't any more interactive either

plus the dungeons could have been better, I give gamespot props for recognizing all this and not being blinded by the name zelda like IGN (didn't they give it a 10?)

basically it was just a sequel to ocarina of time and is miniscule in comparing impact

Wow the control scheme is impressive. REALLY impressive. I really like how smooth it is. I started out on the "advanced" level control scheme and it is really easy to pick up. It definitely controls better than any duel analog set up I have played.

I've only played up to the part when you arrive on the planet Norion, but I have scanned just about ever single part of the first level. Part of me wants to just run right through and get to the action but I still wanna get the best ending from scanning everything.

Shinantonio, are you serious? Dang. I walked in between 4PM and 4:15 and went straight back to the games. There were 2 spots for the game on the shelf and the dividers both said "Metroid 3" and it was handwritten. Both were empty. The guy told me they sold out and he looked in the back and said they didn't have anymore.

He must have found some after I left

***SPOILERS***

I was surprised to fight Ridley so early in the game, he wasn't that difficult of a boss. He has been my favorite villain in the Metroid series so let's hope he comes back for more later in the game (a la Super Metroid)

The grappling beam is nice, I wish you could use it on anything just for fun. If you latch onto something but pull on it lightly, you'll see Samus' hand pull back like yours.

i like this game a lot . at first i was really disappointed wit the visuals but as you play u see shit like explosions, rain on the visor and crazy detail like the face in the visor and u're like NICE. u still aren't like WOOOWWW ala ps3 or 360 , but it's step in the right direction.

I really like how interactive the controls are. Even though it is as simple as pulling and twisting the Wiimote or flicking the nunchuck for grappling, it still just feels really immersive.

Have you been to the other landing site? It should be marked on your map by the computer once you get the ice missiles.

It should be in the same area as the landing site you first went to on Bryyo. Land at the original landing site and one of the doors that requires an ice missile will lead to the new landing site.

They had the visor effects in the first two games right? That is nothing new.

I liked the first one a lot but became slightly bored with the second because it was the same stuff just with more difficulty.

Plus the control was a little clunky trying to move and shoot at the same time. I bet it works like a dream on the Wii though. I would like to try it out.

^They had visor effects on the last ones but they were a lot more subtle. In this one when you go into scan mode, you can see her eyes reflecting on the visor the entire time. As you move the crosshairs around, you see her eyes follow them too. Small details like that are what make this game awesome.

V Yeah it did, I hope we get the speed boost in this one.

Finally got a copy. I'm only to the first save station (on my way to see the "admiral") but so far the controls are great. I'm really impressed by how responsive the crosshairs are to the wiimote. I put it on advanced and love it. Can't wait until I get some baddies to blow up

I finally decided stop being a miser and fork over the money to buy this (and a Wii to go with it).

I've gotten as far as getting the Screw Attack so far. 5 or 6 energy tanks and 80 or 90 missiles (can't remember off the top of my head, my stats aren't right in front of me). I've been running around with the scan visor on everywhere, so hopefully I haven't missed any one-time scans. I've only died twice so far, and I've somehow managed to beat most of the bosses in one try (though it came pretty close, because much of the time I was almost dead by the end). Once you figure out what the trick is you can beat them easily, you just have to try to pull it off without losing too much health.

So far it's been really fun and amazing. The wiimote/nunchuku combination really does make the gameplay more immersive, whether you actually have to aim to hit an enemy or just twist your arm to manipulate an object. The only thing that's been annoying so far is that it's difficult for me to get accustomed to making sure to keep the wiimote facing the sensor bar. If I tilt the controller too much away, the console won't detect it and all of a sudden, when I'm trying to aim and hit stuff, nothing happens. It's made some of the boss fights more frustrating than they needed to be.

so are you guys playing it on normal or veteran? I've been playing veteran and it's kicking my ass left and right. I just beat the boss of Bryyo and it took me a good five tries. Several of the other scrapes (taking out the generators and calling the ship to attack for the first time) took me several tries.

Oh yeah, if you own the game and have my Wii code, send me a voucher. I'm not sure what they do yet. I believe Wraith and bbehe are on my friends list so I'll send those out.

^How do you connect to other people through the Wii? You have to buy some kind of modem or other separately, right? Screw that, I didn't buy this system so that I could chat with other people and swap data. I think I can sleep at night if I can't afford some of the extras because I have no friend tokens.

So I finally beat the game. I won't give any spoilers, but I will say that I was a little disappointed with how easy the final battle was. Maybe veteran will make it more interesting, but after all of these really tough battles and after all the times I was getting my ass kicked during a boss fight, it was a little anti-climactic to have such an easy time with the final boss.

How many items has everyone collected? I've got 99%, but I can't find the last one for the life of me. In Sky Town, there's an observatory area that, if you repair it, you can access special map data. It will highlight the locations of all expansion packs for a given area; a white dot if you didn't grab it, and a white X if you did. I've gone over all of the maps, and I can't find any that I've missed. Was there an expansion pack of some kind during the beginning portion of the game that you can't get later?

The Wii has built-in wifi. If you have wireless Internet, you can use it.

To connect to other people you exchange the system codes. Check the manual I'm sure it explains that. There's also a "wii codes" thread with people's system codes.

I started playing with the standard controls. I'm going back through the game again and using the advanced controls this time. It's not that huge of an adjustment, the only real difference is that your head movement is a lot more sensitive to where you point the reticule. It's more akin to how you look around in a pc fps. On standard, you can move the reticule around the screen without turning your head. You pretty much have to move it to the edge of the screen before you can turn.

I've heard about a couple of other people re-mapping their controls so that B is the fire button. That would make more sense seeing as it is used by your trigger finger, but I've become so accustomed to the standard settings I might not be able to make the transition. Has anyone else done this?

Over 17 hours. I've got a lot of time on my hands, though, so I've been playing near non-stop. In fact, I've played for so long the game has warned me that the wiimote's batteries are running low. I should probably invest in some rechargable batteries today.

Here's a cool thing I just learned about the other day; you can jump while in morph ball mode. You have to tilt the wiimote up or down to do it. It makes navigating through tunnels noticably quicker because you don't have to wait for a bomb to propel you upward. You can even get fancy with it by jumping, setting a bomb at the peak of the jump, and then if you time the second jump right you can get propelled even further upwards by the bomb. There was no mention of this during the initial tutorial portion, so I didn't even learn about it until I heard about it from elsewhere.

Beat it again. I found the last expansion pack that I missed previously, and also got all of the scans I missed (fwi, getting all of the scans gets you nothing special). The ending wasn't all that special, except (SPOILERS AHEAD)

After Samus takes off into space, this glowing blue ship appears and seems to go after her. Is that suppose to be Dark Samus's ship or something? Wtf is this? I thought they were going to end this shit already. That is what happens in a TRILOGY, is it not? Then again I guess this gives Nintendo an excuse to make another game so that they can make more money.

I'm relatively early in the game.. To the part where I just got the command visor and summoned my ship.

My question is this: At the end of the game (before fighting the main boss) does it give me a chance to go back and get items i missed, for example energy tanks and missile expansions?

I hate games that if you miss them, too bad. I like to go back at the end of the game and find stuff I missed before I beat it.

^Once you go to the "final area," you can't exit. But you can't access your ship when there anyway, so it's not as if you could leave or save if you wanted to. So no, there is effectively no point after which you cannot go back through any of the levels and backtrack. In fact, once you've finished the next-to-last area you'll get a message basically saying "all you have to do now is go fight the final boss, but once you go you won't be able to come back. Now's your chance to find any upgrades that you missed."

OK I basically screwed the pooch on getting the secret ending. After the ending they ask you if you want to save and I did even though they basically warned me it would force me to start over. So now I can either play through again for 100% ending or find a video online.
