Have you guys seen Mangino's new shoes?
Neither has he.
Oh, and
Quote : | "Estimating his weight at 345 lbs. with a height of 6 feet and a waist at 48", Mangini would actually be cheaper to ship in a cargo plane from Seattle to Miami than it would be to buy him two coach seats." |

^lol.
serious question for kansas: if you go 12-0 and somehow beat Oklahoma in the big 12 title game do you have a case over one loss oregon or lsu (throwing Oklahoma out as kansas would beat them)? i just don't know as oregon would win the pac-10 (tougher conference) and lsu would win the sec (tougher conference)?
what does everyone think?
ps - if there was a freaking playoff with six teams this wouldn't matter

If they do all that AND beat OK and don't get to play for it all, the BCS is terribly fucked. 11/8/2007 1:04:12 PM |

A 6-team playoff? No. But 4 or 8 would be fine. I like the 4-team playoff best.11/8/2007 1:20:50 PM |

^^ Agreed. If they go undefeated and then beat OU in the Big 12 championship, they deserve to play over LSU or Oregon (assuming both are still at 1 loss) in the BCS Championship.
Also since I get to watch KU each weekend here in Kansas, I am starting to believe they really are a legit team. They easily beat Texas A&M on the road and put up 76 on Nebraska. Yeah Nebraska sucks, but 76 is hard to do even on a shithole team like FL International.
The Missouri game will be interesting. I'm hoping they lose because I want a team in the BCS Championship that can actually beat Ohio State (like LSU or Oregon or Oklahoma). I fucking HATE Ohio State and their easy ass Big Ten schedule.

If Kansas goes undefeated, they deserve to go the BCS championship over any one loss team. They are in the Big 12, not WAC or MAC, and will end up having played a tougher schedule than Ohio State. 11/8/2007 1:40:30 PM |

no chance for Kansas at #1. Most likely: 1. LSU 2. Oregon 3. Kansas 11/11/2007 11:06:53 AM |

i'm not even sure the Pollsters will jump Kansas over Oklahoma... although they should.
If kansas wins out, beating Mizzou and (likely) Oklahoma then they deserve a shot at the National title... ending the season by beating two top 5 teams to remain undefeated should be enough to put them past a one loss Oregon or LSU team 11/11/2007 11:46:49 AM |

What a fucking easy schedule. No OU or Texas. Fatgino will manage to screw this year up and will finally get fired.
Also this thread is stupid and should be locked unless we can make it into a "look at how fat Mangino is" thread " |

^IF they win vs. Mizzou this week, they get OU in the Big 12 title game, so they MIGHT sneak in the title game if they run the table. So, I do agree with timswar.

^ that should not be a problem.
^^^^ As for the UT homer, I still stand by my prediction. KU still has only beaten one team with a winning record. I say they lose in KC to Missouri and finish the regular season with one loss. Not sure if they could still get a BCS invite, but they'll obviously going to a good bowl.
Yeah Mangino won't get fired, but he'll still screw up KU's only chance to ever play for a NC.

A win and a solid game against Mizzou should generate some legit Heisman buzz for Todd Reesing. 11/18/2007 2:07:53 AM |

although it'd almost be by default at this point. every heisman candidate has played/injured himself out of it. 11/18/2007 2:09:18 AM |

Glenn Dorsey is the best player in the country... if "I can get a heisman from 3 highlights" Woodson can get it, give it to Dorsey

so who do you guys got for this saturday? kansas or missouri?
I'm making my picks for the week right now and this one's got me stumped completely
missouri is a damn good team. kansas is a damn good team. both with great offenses, kansas with a slightly better defense. but then you always have that "curse of the #2 team" looming over kansas' head...

Kansas by a hair. The defense has played better, and the offense has been unstoppable down the stretch. They also have a chip on their shoulder from getting worked by Mizzou last year.
I give them even odds to get to the NC. 11/20/2007 1:18:58 AM |

In all honesty, they were about half a quarter away from playing for the title. After Mizzou dominated most of the game, Kansas owned the 4th quarter and made a game of it (it was a legit comeback, not just junk time points). They showed last night why they were once in the national title picture, if only briefly. 1/4/2008 11:12:54 AM |
