Lol, you could say that about any overthrown psas, but that's kinda definition of being accurate.

Beck is an adequate QB for a transition year like this. When he looks good, he looks really good. When he looks bad, he looks really bad. We all know that Glennon may very well be a starting true freshman QB for us next year and, barring a miracle, Beck shouldnt be able to cement himself in the starting QB spot going into next year after this year. All is as it should be. We didnt have a legit QB to start with, so why complain that we still dont have one after we JUST SWITCHED?!?

I agree. I think you just let Beck play and work with him. He is young and talented but needs work checking down and making reads. He is a first year starter so it will be bumpy, but he has the (here it comes) potential to be something very special, which can't be said for the other QB's on the roster... yes even Burke.

football is over at this school. at least until about 4 losing seasons pass and we get a new coach that might take another couple of years to get us decent again.

[Edited on September 11, 2007 at 12:29 PM. Reason : maybe we'll make a good hire next time like unc did]

Lol, how do you say that when we have the third ranked recruiting class in the ACC this year...

There have been several years where we had UNC beat handily on paper and lost.

there is no recruiting class yet. rankings mean nothing until signing day. players renig on verbals all the time. And this early, rankings can only be for a couple of players. Kids are kids and they are going to see us getting destroyed this year and say screw that.

[Edited on September 11, 2007 at 12:49 PM. Reason : and no qb no 18 year old wants to lose]

You missed the point. The point is it's you can't always measure one team against another on paper.

I don't think he played that much though. He wasn't on the list of starters and only had 1 tackle.

We really need to stick with one QB. All this changing is killing offensive chemistry.

Why is Ruiz not starting? I thought he was supposed to be a badass punter?

But Bradley Pierson is doing a lot better than Franklin was.

Darrington went to my high school, obviously long after I was there. My brother said he was a beast in high school and actually got a scholarship to BC.

Guess he followed O'Brien here.

Ha ha we are basically just playing a bunch of walk-ons against FSU. Good God this weekend's game is going to be embarassing. I bet we don't even get 150 yards of total offense.

Beck throwing for 200+ yards has gotten us a long ways...it sucks that he can't seem to get the football into the endzone.

^ I said the 150 yards thing because of Florida State's stout defense. Evans/Beck/Burke/Davis/Wilson, etc won't be able to do shit with 6 FSU players in the backfield on each play.

one day people will learn that you cant fully replace philip

we just need an average qb, and we havent had one since him

jay davis was the closest thing we had, but he had no line and no running game

go ahead and flame on for that last comment

"Davis got the first crack at replacing Rivers, but struggled. He threw 15 interceptions in 2004, including five against Clemson, against 12 touchdowns."

"Beck or Evans – who have thrown 14 interceptions and six touchdowns combined."

Beck and Evans together are about to throw more interceptions than Davis. Hopefully they can get a little bit better in that area of the game.
