what the fuck do you wear then? pretty much every type of guys shoe has been covered from sandals, to puma/addidas style, to basketball, to boat shoe, to work boots, to athletic shoes. do you just walk around in socks?

I am very flat footed and need a good, sturdy running shoe...I've always done well with adidas because they have decent arch and structural support and tend to last a while, but I'm sure there's something better out there. that Brooks Beast... good for a larger (12-13) flat foot?

I can't believe no one has mentioned the fab five era Air Hurache!

(that color combo is ass ugly, but the black Hurache's circa 1992 were the shit. Coolest bball shoe ever).

Other than that I mostly wear adidas (sambas or shells), black rockport lace ups at work, and loafers or sandals at the house.

Yep, hence why I still go through 7 levels of hell to get more pairs of protons.

I also have these shoes I got in Italy, in spring 03. Then in spring 04, amazingly Diesel's new line is this shoe. This EXACT shoe. Same materials, same pattern. I couldn't help but laugh, because I got mine for 45 bucks a year early (as opposed to the 100+ for diesel anything) and they've lasted me forever.

Air force 1's
They are sold by Nike to retailers at about $48.50, and are then sold to the public for the present price of $80 (in the US). It is said that retailers who sell them on discounted prices are penalized by either lower quantity shipments or none at all.[4] Throughout its production history, AF1s have never been sold at a discount.

Many runners who've tested the Brooks Beast say it's a little too stiff and that it would suite a bigger foot real well.

I don't think it's too stiff (size 10), but I normally wear a stacked 12 iron leather firefighting boot

Brooks Beast = two thumbs up.

I'm going to have to find some of these Diesel Protons and try them out. For general work wear I use a pair of Merrell World Summits. They are hella comfortable and I highly recommend them over any comparable shoe I've ever owned.

I am going to have to throw these in:

The Simple OS sneaker is far and away the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. I have probably gone through 7 or 8 pairs in the last 15 years. Great shoe.

^^man I like those, where do you find them?

^actually those too, hook me up with some links.

As long as you dont have a color preference, you can still pick up lightly used protons on ebay for ~20 bucks. But of course I want a Blue/White pair to replace my current ones, and I'm going to end up paying close to $100, still well worth it, and still less than the 160 they originally cost.

I looked on eBay last night and didn't see any current or completed auctions in my size. I'll keep an eye out though.

I got that pair of Merrells at REI about 2.5 years ago for around $100. I would suggest going into the store to try them on because they ran large on me. I actually bought a 12 even though I have been wearing size 13 in everything else since high school. Here is a link: http://www.rei.com/product/699588 If you try them let me know how they compare to your Diesels.
Mine probably have a solid 1.25 years worth of use on them since I rotate between these and a couple other pairs of shoes for work. The uppers still look almost new and the soles still have a lot of life left although they are showing some wear. The leather is definitely top quality. All of the stitching has held up perfectly.

Adidas Barricade IV's... absolutely sick design, great shoe technologies, and imo the best tennis shoes i've ever worn. I've got them now and I will probably buy another pair soon.
