thanks to everyone who came out last night and also thnks to everyone who bought merchandise. (we sold a ton).

thanks for coming out Joel and youll have to send me the pics sometime.

and PS Advent totally ripped everyone's faces off. Joe is a ridiculously brutal front man.

its not bad stuff but as far as brutal heaviness goes it doesnt compare. it also helps advent that Joe is one of my favorite metal/hardcore vocalists of all time.

http://www.myspace.com/glasscasket
http://www.myspace.com/bloodjinn
http://www.myspace.com/knivesexchanginghands

check those out as a start.

i don't like BTBAM on principle.
Glass Casket is alright, not a huge fan of the vocals.
Bloodjin is decent, not a huge fan of the vocals.
Knives is not my style.

These bands are too hardcore for me. Metalcore is iffy enough to me. Basically if i go to a show and the Guy to girl ratio is anything above 20:1 i lose faith in the bands. I know thats not remotely fair i'm just stubborn.

I just get pissed when people say they like metal and the only band they can name is BTBAM or Atreyu. Yeah i know i'm a douchebag.

yea atreyu freaking blows. i can understand where you are coming from but i can tell you that I am not a big fan of most of the "MTV metalcore" a la atreyu, it dies today, and all the other cookie cutter bands that anyone can name.

BTBAM is very well known yes and a lot of the kids who eat up cookie cutter stuff like them too but they are on a totally different plane. the compositions on this last album are simply some of the best ive heard from a melody/metal standpoint in a long time.

I completely agree with you. I'm impressed by what i've heard as far as technicality / interesting aspects of the music, but the vocals again aren't my style (mostly the clean vocals).

i like nice, beastly screaming/growling vocals - and when there are clean vocals, not remotely girly/whiney. ex Opeth or First 3 Arch Enemy cds.

[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 10:03 PM. Reason : Beastly]

Furthermore, I would rather a band have trivial riffs, but heavy riffs than have glitch picking and 7 string sweeps over blastbeats at 340 bpm, with some shitty singer thinking he's a badass.

[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 10:08 PM. Reason : Riffage]
