"Unlike Army Reserve members, National Guard members cannot be mobilized individually, except through voluntary transfers and Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY). However, there has been a significant amount of individual activations to support ongoing military operations related to the Global War on Terrorism (beginning in 2001); the legality of this policy is a major issue within the National Guard."

they're supposed to be called up as a last resort, as a whole unit (in part, as I understand it, to keep supplies and resources tied to their NG units, instead of scattered across the front of a foreign war)....bush didn't do this, again he's making up his own rules as he goes.

And where is congress? Checks and balances and all that. If Bush is walking all over the laws and the constitution it's because congress and the people are allowing it.

^^ I don't know of any personal examples of individuals being pulled up for AD out of the National Guard who didn't volunteer for it. I'll ask around though, I've got a few contacts in the NC and Va NG. The NG isn't an OHSHITWEREFUCKED last resort either, they're practically a necessity when your standing army is as (relatively) small as ours.

https://theintercept.com/2017/12/04/trump-white-house-weighing-plans-for-private-spies-to-counter-deep-state-enemies/

So we've got Erik Prince, with a ton of personal ties to Pence and trump:
- meeting Russian operatives on mega-yachts on remote islands
- proposing privatizing Afghanistan
-pitching a private spy force that, I assume, would only answer to the president.

I am really creeped out by Erik Prince and some of his affiliated crew. Prince's testimony (transcript) to the House intelligence cmte was supposed to drop today (I thought), but I haven't found any articles on it yet.

This is literally the scariest thing I've seen yet from Trump.

Look up the BLVD. That's what this will be.

Prince testimony. Guy is clearly more tight lipped/a better liar than most of the Trump Admin dipshits the intelligence Cmte has interviewed. Gets somewhat testy at times, with Prince acting pissy that they even called him in. I haven't seen anyone posting anything groundbreaking yet from this.
