Hypocrisy=/analogy.
Anyways, there's a huge difference between having a service that is simply not availible and having a company go through the motions of offering you a service, charge you for the service, and then not provide you the service.
What you don't understand is what we're actually complaining about. We're not complaining about not being able to get satellite, we're complaining because TWC charges us for a service they fail to provide, despite our best efforts.

So the "does not equal" sign confuses you? Really? You've never seen the "does not equal" sign before?
And you do realize there's another page to this right? I mean you do remember the the other page don't you? You know, where there was this sentence missing one "by" and suddenly you were the defender of the english language? This was the same page where you became very indignant when people corrected your grammar, if you remember. Ring any bells?

im lovin my new $147---->$101 cable tv and internet
i did a little research. clearwire SEEMED ok, but my brother actually has it and brought his modem over here and its slowwww
also, there was a DSL/directTV package deal that seemed cheap too... but i just got lazy since i got another bill and realized i'd paid 45 more for the phoneline while i procrastinated. then i called impulsively and dropped it instantly

RR is 4x faster than clearwire, that's the only reason i haven't switched. i called them a while ago and they said that once they have almost all of NC covered in their service, they'll speed up the Mbpsness 10/17/2007 11:02:19 PM |

Quote : | "You were kidding? So, you really love Time Warner and think I'm not a moron?
Just because it is accepted by some people doesn't mean it should be widely used.
Sorry if after typing hundreds of lines a day I accidentally leave out a word or two. I didn't realize chit chat was so strict.
I think a "general user" on this board has had time warner more than two months.
Better cable? We have the same service genius. I still have my anal virginity. Try not to get too excited over it." |
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you got on here wanting to be an ass to everyone and that you are not actually as stupid as you come off.
So you admit "and" is an accepted way to start a sentence, but not everyone should use it. Why? That's like saying it's ok for some people to post on the internet, but not everyone should do it.
If that's the case, why don't you take your own advice and not post in a thread devoted to bashing TWC. Or leave your obligatory "TWC works fine for me," and then gtfo and save us all the time of arguing with you. You've done nothing to convince anyone that Time Warner Cable isn't complete crap and you haven't even suggested a viable alternative.
And while the "general user" probably has had TWC longer than two months, it only took two months for TWC to demonstrate how crappy their service is. So yeah, I think I qualify as a "general user" in a THREAD DEVOTED TO BASHING TIME WARNER CABLE.
And we obviously don't have the same "service," as you say you haven't had any problems, when sadly I can't say the same. We may have the same cable "package" and maybe that is what you meant, but if you'll reread my posts, you'll notice nowhere did I complain about a particular channel or my particular cable package.
And it's good to hear you still have your anal virginity. I guess TWC technicians are accepting bjs instead of buttsex. Maybe I can convince your Mom to suck one of them off for me, so I can get good cable service too.

TWC experiments with tiered pricing for internet
Quote : | "Time Warner Cable will experiment with a new pricing structure for high-speed Internet access later this year, charging customers based on how much data they download, a company spokesman said Wednesday.
The company, the second-largest cable provider in the United States, will start a trial in Beaumont, Texas, in which it will sell new Internet customers tiered levels of service based on how much data they download per month, rather than the usual fixed-price packages with unlimited downloads.
Company spokesman Alex Dudley said the trial was aimed at improving the network performance by making it more costly for heavy users of large downloads. Dudley said that a small group of super-heavy users of downloads, around 5 percent of the customer base, can account for up to 50 percent of network capacity.
Dudley said he did not know what the pricing tiers would be nor the download limits. He said the heavy users were likely using the network to download large amounts of video, most likely in high definition." |

This is being sold as a way to reign in "bandwidth hogs", and improve the experience for the customers who suffer as a result. From what I heard on NPR, under the current plan, the base price (the price paid by light users) would remain the same...with the increase being applied to heavier users, apparently 5% of the customer base.
First, I've never really experienced much lag with TWC, so I question whether anyone is actually "suffereng". Of course, my experience is limited to use in North Carolina. Second, the base price would remain the same? wtf? If true, it seems apparent that this is all about profit.1/17/2008 6:50:10 PM |
