it seems like this season is trying to appeal a lot more to the generic show watching audience with the murder plotline, lack of much football, etc. i hate to say that i wish that show would have just ended while it was ahead.

According to http://www.thefutoncritic.com/guide.aspx?id=strike_scripted they have 5 episodes left after this one. That is the best site for checking out how many episodes your shows have left and when they air next.

damn good episode tonight. i lol'd though when they had Rick Barnes, head coach of the Texas men's basketball program, come into the local diner posing as a TMU football coach and talk to Smash about attending TMU. it just seemed odd, although i do know that they had Mack Brown in one of the first episodes of the first season.

anyone think Tim Riggins or his brother is going to get shot by the meth drug dealer in future episodes?

nah, they couldn't deal with another murder story line. I wonder when they are going to work Street back into the show, or has he left?

I don't think this show has anything to do with football now

Is this the Tim Riggins show? He had more screen time than DDL in There Will Be Blood.

^ me and tjb627 have concluded riggins get a swift kick in the nuts at least once an episode. i'm afraid they're getting a little too extreme with some of the drama. some of the things they have characters doing just aren't very consistent with how they were portrayed in the first season.

The glaring problem this season is the absence of football.

if last episode begins a trend, the show will be more about volleyball than football.

and it's sorta funny watching the first season which was awesome and could've ended fine after its last epsidoe, then they got a new season and had to create storylines. i wish i could've been in that room:
"so i think landrey should KILL someone" "what about riggins?" "riggins is going to steal money from a drug dealer... and there's this guy named the SWEDE" "oooo that's good"

If there is a season 3 are they going to follow them to college? That'll be too Dawson's Creek, but as far as I know, aren't all of the stars of the show seniors?

Season finale is tonight and it's possible this could be the series finale.

Is it really the season finale? I know it's the last one they've shot but I thought that was because of the strike. I figured this season wasn't supposed to end until the end of the football season. The playoffs haven't even begun yet.

This is the last of the episodes since because of the writer's strike. The DVD has already been announced that will include all 15 episodes from this season (15th episode is tonight). I doubt the studio would want FNL to start up production again for ~6 more episodes. Higher profile shows get the call first.

well it surprised me how well it ended.. i was expecting no closure at all. it's a shame that they won't get a chance to make the other 7 or so episodes... they could've done more with the storylines.

I hope they let it roll another season. This season was great for what it accomplished with the shitty scheduling problems from the strike. If it gets replaced with reality shit, I will be very pissed.

With this gone, the only shows I have to watch now are Lost and Jericho, which starts this week.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think Street could have kids anymore. I remember when he was laying up in the hospital and Lyla came to visit they started making out, and then Street asked a nurse if he was able to and she said no.

I'm guessing she lied, which means she's probably pregnant by the one and only Tim Riggins

NBC has begun to have conversations with The CW, E!, G4 and TNT (and possibly DirecTV) about helping out with the series. I hate that it has come down to this but I like the fact that NBC is actually trying to keep this show alive in some way.

From Ausiello over at tvguide:

Quote :
"There's no deal... yet.

That's what my sources over at the Peacock are telling me in response to a Deadline Hollywood Daily story claiming NBC has picked up Friday Night Lights after partnering with DirecTV. That said, the buzz is that an agreement has been reached and is essentially just awaiting a signature. To which I say, Ohymygodthankyoujesus!

What would an NBC/DirecTV combo look like? I'm not 100 percent certain, but I'm guessing it would be similar to the Law & Order: CI deal NBC brokered with USA, only in this case, FNL would first air on an exclusive DirecTV channel followed by an encore broadcast on NBC.

Bottom line: Ohymygodthankyoujesus! "

another link to this new deal:
http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/nbc-picking-up-friday-night-lights-after-partnering-on-it-with-directv/

so apparently it's not coming back THIS season, but it'll be picked up in the fall. sucks i have to wait that long to watch it, but at least it's coming back

if you've never seen this show, please do yourself (and all the fans who want the ratings to go up) a favor and check it out next fall. some of the best writing and production on tv

on a side note: tim riggins is playing Gambit in the new X-men movie. didn't see that one coming. but it kinda works
