the denver charlotte game was awesome tonight, except my team lost. After flipping between that and the college games that were on tonight, I don't understand how people can watch college basketball.

I agree with this ^

Monta is as fast with the ball as anybody in the league. he's still really young too. He'll get a little better.

I'm glad the Kings beat the Mavs last night. Salmons has been a big help this year plus I'm glad the Kings got Kevin Martin back. He dropped 39 pts. on them.

yes SIR

Howard, Lebron, Wade, KG, B-B-B-Billups...I wanted to put Gerald Wallace in, but theres no way I could put him at foward ahead of LBJ and Garnett

Kobe, Paul, Amare, Duncan and Dirk...If I could, I would have voted Baron and Paul as guards and Kobe at the 3 with Dirk not making it

My All-Star Team Starters:

East
G Jason Kidd
G Richard Hamilton (I want to put Caron Butler here b/c he's having an amazing season, but he's a forward and I can't put him over KG, maybe LBJ though, but he should be on the team.)
F LeBron James
F Kevin Garnett
C Dwight Howard

West
G Steve Nash
G Kobe Bryant
F Carlos Boozer
F Tim Duncan
C Marcus Camby

Critique away.

east: howard, LBJ, KG, kidd, wade
west: paul, kobe, boozer, duncan, amare

Nash is the only player I feel I'm snubbing. But Paul is having such a great year.

I don't know how you could even consider leaving Lebron off the all star team. have you looked at his numbers? something like 30, 7 and 7....a great PER and his team can't win when he doesn't play.

No, I didn't see it. But Paul has played out of this world the last two years. Hollinger actually says he's been better than Nash for two years now. Not sure if I can agree. But it's arguable.

I don't know what in the hell I was thinking.

Anyway, I just couldn't vote for Wade this year. The Heat are BAD, and sure, he's not the reason. He's playing 1 on 5 every night. I just don't think I could vote Wade over J-Kidd (walking triple double) and Rip (one of the best guards in the East playing on one of the top two teams in that conference).

do you have any idea how boring Kidd would be to watch if he didnt have Vince and RJ to toss it to? yeah i'm a dumbshit, clearly jason kidd at point guard would be more exciting than my choice, lebron james, at point guard...that guy lebron is boring as shit to watch

so just to clarify...you're arguing that Jason Kidd is more exciting to watch than Lebron James...wow even Jason Kidd thinks you're an idiot

point taken, but no that wouldnt make me a complete dumbshit, it would make me a complete homer...even though wallace and richardson literally have stats worthy of BENCH all star spots...but that lineup was in response to the previous post saying Wade would be more exciting than Rip Hamilton...which he would, and the point is that the all star game is for the fans and therefore should be exciting...and last time i checked, j-rich was pretty exciting (he has won 2 dunk contests) and anybody who knows the bobcats knows g-force is exciting...so i still say you're dumber than me

I think you're both wrong

While Kidd isn't exciting on his own, pairing him with Carter and Jefferson makes him exciting as hell

So putting him with Lebron, Garnett, Howard and Wade would give him that many more options for lobs and other crazy passes

Kidd and Nash should be like the all time quarterbacks for the All Star game...even thought they may not necesarily deseve to start, they should...you need great point guard play to make All Star games exciting

Soon the torch will pass to Paul in the west and hopefully Felton here in the East

Iverson is even better in that role ^

kable, I think LeBron has somehow gone from the most hyped celebrated baller in history to somewhat underappreciated. This season, the only flaw in his game is his free throw shooting. His jumper is better. His defense is even better.

I really think is a toss up between Paul and Nash. Nash might be the most offensively skilled player in the league. Not only is he the best passer but he's pretty much the best shooter in the NBA. Obviously, carmelo, kobe, lebron, wade are the most effective offensive forces. But I think you guys know what I'm getting at.

Am I the only one that simply hates Luol Deng's game?

Can anybody really say Rip Hamilton is more of an all star the D-Wade? It might just be the nature of Rip's game, but I always assume he is a product of the system and not much better than mike miller.

I'll agree to that.

I was only saying that if it came down between Wade and Hamilton, I would pick Hamilton b/c he plays on a better team. I don't think Wade is anything less than an all-star, I just don't think he should be a starter. He'll get voted in anyway.

I get what you mean. The Miami's record is sooo bad while Detroit is playing so well. I just think that detroit is still a solid playoff team without hamilton. Therefore I would hesitate to call him the second best guard in his conference. He's probably the second best guard on his team. but obviously miami sucks no matter what, so I can't compare them like that.

The lakers have got to stay afloat while bynum is out, If they can end up with a top 4 seed in the West i think they will be DANGEROUS as hell to have to play.

but if they slip in bynums absence to a 5-8 seed, it will be very tough for them to make noise in the postseason.

with that said, these next two months will define the lakers season

lol, a little udpate on some old friends...

Quote :
"The ship continues to sink for the former top ranked player in the 2005 high school class, as after laying an egg in his first game here, he proceeded to have an even worse outing tonight, shooting 2-10 from the field. Josh McRoberts clearly doesn’t want to be here—that much is obvious from his body language, seemingly floating up and down the floor aimlessly “with his thumb up his [rear end]” as one longtime NBA scout put it. He’s coming off the bench behind two undrafted players in Lance Allred and Cory Violette who look destined for Europe—and quite frankly has not made any type of case for himself to be receiving minutes over them.

Offensively, McRoberts does not seem to have a consistent way of creating points for himself. He looked incredibly soft in the post, fading away from contact, being unable or unwilling to use his body to create space, showing very little in the ways of actual post moves, and settling for bad shots. On the perimeter, McRoberts is making things way too difficult on himself, pulling up off the dribble on more than one occasion for mid-range jumpers (air-balling one of his attempts), and even trying to shoot an NBA 3-pointer.

Defensively, McRoberts could not stay in front of any of the D-League players he tried to guard tonight, and did not really put much effort at all into this part of his game--being outhustled for rebounds as well. Opposing players have been going right at him in both games we saw here, and McRoberts really hasn’t responded to the challenge in the least bit.

The sooner McRoberts realizes how far he is right now from being an NBA player, the better off he’ll be. From what we can tell, the Development League is exactly the place he needs to be at the moment. His lofty recruiting rankings from high school will only take him so far at this point, as he looks pretty close to turning into a cautionary tale if he’s not careful.
"

Quote :
"Players like Kris Lang usually don’t play in the D-League from what we can tell. A 6-11 center with an NBA frame, Lang is ready to compete physically with big men at any level of basketball. He’s rated by most International scouts in attendance as the #1 big man prospect in the D-League, and it’s really not hard to tell why. He’s someone you know exactly what you can expect from him on a consistent basis.

Besides his chiseled frame, Lang also has excellent hands and solid mobility for a player his size. He runs the floor well, and has excellent timing for rebounds and blocks, being somewhat of a force on the glass in many minutes here in Boise. He’s extremely active, boxes out well, plays physical and doesn’t shy away from contact.

Offensively, Lang is a fairly limited player, although he’s probably slightly better than he was able to show here. He establishes deep position in the paint thanks to his strength and frame, and has some basic back to the basket moves he can utilize—mainly a jump-hook and some simple footwork. He’s not explosive finishing at the rim, particularly in traffic, and loses effectiveness significantly the farther out he strays from the basket. He tried some really tough shots here that looked out of his repertoire, hook shots from difficult angles and too far out, and some mid-range jumpers that didn’t look particularly good. He doesn’t seem to have the best touch around, and has been struggling from the free throw line at times early on in the year so far. He does run the floor extremely well, which can help him get some easy baskets.

Defensively, Lang does a very good job. He likes to throw his body around in the post and is not afraid to make his presence felt. It’s tough to post him up because of his size, strength and the effort he puts in here, which makes him a pretty valuable guy to have. He’s constantly talking to his teammates, looking to pick his spots where he can help out with a heady rotation or by sticking his hand in for a steal or block. His feet are a little bit slow out on the perimeter, which hurts him trying to defend pick and roll plays.

All in all, Lang is a useful player who might even have a chance to get called up by some NBA team looking for a backup center who brings defense, rebounding, intelligence, and consistent effort whenever he’s called upon. He’s not a super talented player, but there is a lot to be said for the consistency he brings to the table. Some of the biggest teams in Europe are waiting in the background in case he decides to cross back over the Atlantic again.

i'm assuming you just forgot San Antonio and not that you don't consider them a top 5 team

if you had asked this 2 weeks ago I would've said the Lakers, but without Bynum they are not a top 5 team

1. Pistons
2. Spurs (not by much)
3. Celtics
4. Suns
5. Mavs

On the cusp: Blazers (suprise!!!), however, I think teams are going to recognize how good they really are and start giving them tough games, or someone (Roy, Aldridge, or maybe someone like Outlaw) is going to get hurt, and eventually slide.

Also, I feel bad that I slighted the Lakers, but like the previous guy said, w/o Bynum, they aren't in the top five. (Wow, I can't believe I said that.)

Thats the one Bobcats game I'm most looking forward to, when we play the Warriors in March

Baron has always been one of my favorites ever since the Hornets drafted him

and I haven't seen Monta in person yet

plus neither team plays any defense

Lol, how the fuck did Shelden Williams get selected over Gay too. Morons. The lot of them.

Duke big men are hilarious. Brand was nasty in college and the NBA. Boozer was mediocre in college but great in the NBA. McRoberts is a pussy. Why would a big man EVER go there?
