Depending on the SF you're playing, Ken's leaves you vulnerable. However, I think his looks cooler.

On the SNES SFII Turbo, a well-timed hurricane kick as your opponent is getting up can score 6 hits.

Heh. I remember in the Saturn version of Alpha, 2 of you could simultaneously fight Bison. Few things looked any cooler than when Ken could hurricane kick him high, and Ryu could repeatedly short kick him low. My friends and I would constantly try to do this since he couldn't always cover both guards if you were fast enough.

^from what I read, it's purely 2d-play in a very nice 3d world. I haven't kept up with fighters lately so I don't know if that's offered in other games, but I hate 3d fighters for the most part

Played some SSFIIT HD beta tonight. When you play someone with a good ping, it plays exceptionally well. One match was like watching a 3rd graders flipbook, though. Now it's a race to see which will come out first - SF4 or SSFIIT HD.

I was able to use my arcade joystick with this, and I ran roughshod over my friends because of it. They were not happy with me. Hey, if the programmers had wanted us to play fighting games with menstrual pads, they'd have built them into the hardware originally.

the game looks good visually. however, i'm questioning the complexity of the gameplay.

my original thought of this game was basically an updated version of the classic SF2. then they introduced some really goofy looking characters. at least there will be more than 8 playable characters. i do appreciate the nostalgic feeling though with all the oldschool stages and music.

This trailer is supposed to bridge the gap between SFII and SFIV. Don't know what happened with SF3. Sounds like they have the same voices as the SF animated movie.

Thus proving once again that some things were not meant to be heard in any form other than their native language. There had bloody well better be an option to switch to Japanese dialogue with subtitles.

Gamespot has been holding a SFIV tournament and has been posting videos online lately. Although the commentators drive me insane, watching the fighting is pretty interesting. Sagat looks beastly.

I wonder when and if any place in Raleigh will get a machine before this comes out on consoles?
