Yeah, mine was 1.3 when it died.

But at the same time, I don't want to overload waffles.fm. It seems like everyone and their mom, including people who weren't on Oink in the first place, wants an invite.

i feel like it's not that difficult to find what you're looking for via blogs, shareminer, etc. the quality may not be V0 or whatever, but you can't be picky.

What.cd has gone through some SERIOUS trouble since its inception, including an attempt to scare off potential users by sending them all fake emails from the RIAA

But apparently the frauds have been exposed, the DDOS attacks have stopped, and they've extended the freeleach period until Saturday AT THE EARLIEST. Christmas came early this year *crosses fingers about getting sued by some random agency somewhere*

typing "rapidshare album name" into google is so much faster than torrenting, plus you don't have to seed.

You know, I've thought about that when I post leaks over here and wondered whether I should put the quality on there as well.

Most of the stuff I try not to put up unless it's at LEAST 192 (or 256), but I've put up a few 128's. (Wolf Parade was a 128, I think).

Maybe I should label those better, lol.

well there's more to consider than just what the bitrate shows up as in winamp/itunes

it could be a transcode, meaning it was originally ripped as 128 and someone reencoded it as a 256. or even that it was ripped to an mp3 (lossy format, say 320) and then converted to another lower bitrate (say 256) mp3. That transcoded 256 will be of a lower quality than one that was ripped to 256 to begin with

they're pretty militant about not allowing transcodes on waffles/what, and most people thing that's a Good Thing™

I sent a few invites to What.cd to users of tdub. Long story short I have been living in a place with only wireless internet and don't know port forwarding well enough so I've slowly watched my ratio dwindle.

now I need an invite, and a lesson in port forwarding if someone could be so gracious. Anyone willing to help out?

^Both. I still needed to download music but every time I tried all that port forwarding wireless router stuff, well that's just above my technical prowess level. So over time my ratio slowly decreased because I couldn't figure out why exactly nothing was uploading.

it would have been a good idea to stop downloading if you knew you weren't uploading. this is a totally avoidable problem.

also, inviting back users that have previously lost an account could prevent you from getting any invites in the future, or even losing your account
